I've been wanting to start this thread for ages
As the "Random stuff that annoys me thread" reaches 100+ pages, it is pretty clear that we could solve the world's energy crisis if we somehow harnessed man's natural ability to complain about things.
So, as one poster accused me of having "no balance" I thought I'd try and tip the scales of karma and start this one up as well. Let's see if it is just as popular?
So I will start with an easy one.
When you read through a lengthy online debate and you disagree with what people are saying, so you stick your neck out and say something - get a torrent of abuse back - and then suddenly someone you don't know pops up and agrees with you. Immediately restoring both your faith in humanity and the thought that you may be going mad.

When you watch a current entertainment programme on the telly and as if by a miracle there is no sign of James Corden anywhere. Ahhhhhhhh what a refreshing change. I've turned a negative into a positive.

Nice one Muski - on a similar note, when you disagree violently with someone online about a particular subject but then on another topic you find that you have common ground. You realise that we all come into this world the same and we're not always so different as it sometimes feels
I did consider proposing that no one was allowed to post in the annoyance thread without posting one here as a counter balance, but that seemed a bit too draconian!

I'm happily married, early 40's & certainly no Brad Pitt but do try & look after myself.
I've never cheated and never will but I have to admit it does give me a spring in my step when I get checked out at the gym or out & about.

Steve's media interviews. So much more inspiring compared to the two previous dead fish we had as managers.

I like it Steve and I shall be using this thread a lot also but for some reason it's human nature to look at negatives and not highlight positives which I've never understood. Let's change it!
I think I read on the Brentford thread about a fan who dropped his wallet or something and a man found it and gave it back to him. This happened to me once as well as my mobile phone on a separate occasion and I got them both back. There are some decent folk in the world. Just not in Parliament.

When you're having an online debate and you disagree with what people are saying even though they resort to name calling, and later down the track you watch as the view you were proposing materialise.

When I worked for a certain DIY store, they used to run campaigns, asking people if they wanted to add a 50p donation to their shopping.
I flat refused, on that same principle. Earned me a disciplinary.

I think what you're saying is that giving to charity is a personal choice and no one should feel co-erced, pressured or shamed into giving. Amen to that

I just completely blank them now. It's alien to me as I feel really rude and ignorant doing it but they are being rude and ignorant towards me so I don't feel guilty now. It's a waste of time even acknowledging them. In addition, it does no help to their charities either - at least from my friends and family - when I ask them not to give to X charity in the future just because they have annoyed the hell out of me.
I even got friends to cancel their direct debits for a couple of charities on the basis that I was harassed by their 'chuggers'.
I worked for one of the UK's largest dog rescue charities for a while and they are some of the worst and persistent I've seen. This organisation is marketed perfectly and they have money literally flooding from every orifice you can think of. The amount of senior staff perks and unnecessary expenditure will knock your socks off. I left partly because of this. I'm about dogs, not feathering my own pension pot. Having had experience of working for this organisation it gave an insight to family and friends who now donate to local, under resourced dog rescue charities where every single penny in some form or another will benefit an animal. There is no waste and no extras for senior management and needless employment positions.

Yes Stive. I can have gluten and occasionally I do so when there is no other option (convenience really) but it's not that often. I have reactions like skin rashes, headaches, really bad motions and cramps and brain fog, lethargy but nothing as serious as those who have celiac.
There are some breweries now who are brewing gluten free beers and not really making a song and dance about it, they can often be found alongside the ordinary beers. It's just a case of reading the label. Others get their bottles marketed on some GF section at £3 plus a bottle which you can't blame but i wouldn't buy them. Bought one once, Hambletons or something and it was pretty ropey.
The Scarborough Fair Wold Top is not even advertised gluten free and you'd not know unless you read the smallprint and guarantee at the back of the bottle. I've got that at £1.80 a bottle which for a gluten free beer that tastes great and 6% is superb.

I thought i was the only person who thought like this.
Same here Stive. Could be the finest beer in all the land but if it's marketed in a manner i find annoying then i won't buy it. Yes i'm odd.
That aside, i don't know if anyone has tried the St Peters range of beers? They come in a sort of old fashioned mead bottle shape and had Ruby Ale, Organic and even a gluten free bottle. It's nice stuff and the bottle is damned heavy! I think they are from Bungay in Suffolk.
My favourite brewery ever though are Wold Top from near back home in Hunmanby, Filey. They do a superb range including a 6% Scarborough Fair IPA gluten free and one other gluten free called Against The Grain which is about 4% i think. They do a lot more others including Wold Gold. Superb. Never used to be able to buy them down this neck of the woods but they are available in some places.

talking of car dealerships - why is it almost impossible to find any information on buying a new car in a simple manner that doesn't involve all sorts of finance deals and BS?
I'm I the only person left in this world that saves up and THEN buys the car with cash?
