So say we get new owners and clear all the debt, what’s the max we can spend to put us close to FFP? We’ll need some investment in some players that are currently not overly well known but are having a good six months purple patch at their club. They’ll probably not come cheap mind

I would look for at least one Jags type signing but a natural striker.

Admin will be solved first, which should in turn solve HMRC.

We've been in discussions with the EFL over the P&S issues, which I believe is the reason for the delay in submitting the accounts. Get that rumoured penalty resolved and the others points should go away too.

So potentially back to normal before Xmas is a possibility

Another key thing to keep an eye on are our fixtures between now and the start of January - we are all hoping that with all the positive vibes and interest we will be nearing a takeover in January - or at least in a position where we will not be looking to sell any of our players in a fire sale.

So how many games do we need to get out of the way before January. Well, im counting the January 1st game as I doubt anything will change by then so its a mighty 12 games still to go!! All we can hope is that we dont get any major injuries and the squad keeps the passion going with the fans right behind them but you can see what a tall order we have in front of us. 5 home games and 7 away plus we play the top 3 who are allowed to play on a different playing field to our level one (at least 2 of those are at home).

    October
    Blackburn (H)

    November
    Barnsley (A)
    Millwall (A)
    Bournemouth (H)
    Fulham (A)
    QPR (H)

    December
    Bristol C (A)
    Blackpool (H)
    Cardiff (A)
    WBA (H)
    Stoke (A)

    January 1st
    Reading (A)

HMRC & Admin are what puts us in the current embargo, sort them, which should happen at the same time really, will then move us tp a soft embargo. Not sure what will happen on the others as the administrators have said no accounts need to be submitted now we have gone into administration

Who can we sign and on what basis under a soft embargo then.

Does anyone understand this whole matter.

We need to clear this list:

It's possible that clearing some of them but not others would move us into a soft embargo rather than the current hard one, which would still allow us to make some signings due to different restrictions.

Which is the biggest hurdle, G of C

If Tepper wants Derby, he'll have it. He's apparently worth more than Abramovic. Of all the names bandied about, only Michael Dell could outbid him. I'd love to think there's substance to the rumours, but where he's concerned, I've only seen Twatter conjecture, nothing solid.

As for the other fella, he isn't a billionaire, nor need he be. I do wonder whether he knows some big fish are circling and is maybe trying to get out front and centre with the fans as a strategic move. He may also be fronting a consortium. FWIW, the comparisons to young Erik are pretty unfair. They are worlds apart!

Also, and in fairness to folks who have mentioned his financial wherewithal, I think it's mostly been because of the Nixon 'billionaire' reference, not out of greed, perceived necessity or any sense of entitlement. Indeed, it seems to me that the overriding sense right now is one of relief that there are folk interested at all. Many on here assumed that nobody would touch the club, so it's something positive to hold onto, for the time being at least, amid all the doom and gloom.

    What gloom and doom. COYR

When I was 7 or 8 Derby came to our school, all the players were dotted around the assembly hall, so 1 by 1 I met each player notebook in hand asking each player what there name was, then I scribbled it down in my book, even asking some players how there names was spelt.....I didn't get any autographs just pages of words that looked like they had been written by a sloth

Memories are made of this. Sloths only have three toes so using a pen is awkward.

If it turns out that there is more than one interested party at the end of the due diligence process (ie people haven’t been scared off), do you think the administrators will just plump for the party with the most cash (I’m assuming the asking price will be the same whoever is bidding) or will they determine who would be the ‘best fit’ to run the club in the long term?
Obviously a moot point if it comes down to a bidding war, but if there’s more than one who can meet the asking price, I wonder what the criteria will be.

Could develop into a minor bidding war for an extra £5 million quid. Does a higher bid get the club.
