No chance I'm afraid. (A bit of reverse psychology..) So far this season in 17 games we have achieved slightly over 1 point per game, which is barely enough to avoid relegation normally. To achieve safety we need 1.8 points per game which is pushing for automatic promotion form. Are we going to go from relegation threatened to pushing for promotion form overnight? Are we capable of winning 2 on the trot even?
Sky sports stated we would need to get 1.7 points per match to stand a chance of staying up. So a draw at Fulham on Wednesday and a win at home to QPR would give us a 2.3 point per match ratio over the 3 games (having won today).

I am gobsmacked by the amount of tax we owe, its a mind blowing bill.

Your point is what? That game was to get him scoring goals again.
I would think playing a striker in a game is that they can score goals. I was'nt making a point, I just was'nt aware he was injured. He played the full 90 mins in the match against Blackburn, so possibly took a knock or got injured in training after that match. Lets hope he can make a recovery so Wayne does have other options before any others get injured in the striking positions.

Err he's currently injured.
Well he scored a hattrick against Blackburn on Bonfire night, must have got injured in that game or in training.

Maybe he means Stretton isn't strong enough yet. CKR is a beast.
But Jack Stretton is our only natural out and out goalscorer and if Rooney needs him to get better (if he's match fit), give him 1st team football. If he's not strong enough and gets knocked over as much as Knight, the chances are we will get more penalties.

Why did Baldock get subbed in the first half was he injured?
As far as I could understand it, he just was'nt in the game and Rooney got Kazim on to alter our attack.

Strange that Rooney stated the reason for not having Stretton in the squad. Being down to match fitness, well I hope he's proved his match fitness in the U23s and gets a chance in the 1st team. Poor old Baldock got 21 mins today and only got one touch on the ball and Rooney took him off.

I will be surprised if he plays a full 90 minutes in January personally..
If he's fit by the back end of next month, thats at least 3 games before January. Then January, including the cup match is 5 matches. So he could play 90 mins in one (of course this is providing he is available to play at the end of next month)

For some reason, I went to that game on my own (I was 11) and went in the Boys Corner (no girls allowed in those days ?). There was a young Man U supporter, of about 13 I'd say, in there on his tod getting a bit of attention from a group of our apprentice thugs. I think he had learning difficulties. I felt dead sorry for him, but I wasn't old enough or big enough to argue with them. Fortunately, a copper spotted him and hoiked him out before things got too nasty. The 70s eh?
I also went to that game and was in the boys corner (I always thought it was called the boys end) I remember at one stage of the match, George Best being close to the line within touching distance of where I was standing (at the time he was one of the players I worshiped and wish he was a Derby player). I was gobsmacked that we had beaten the great United team that had only 2 years earlier won the European cup, brilliant game to have been at to on that Saturday afternoon.

Quite looking forward to watching the players play without any pressure. The expectations have dropped through the floor and I'm hoping that equates to our players just going out there and playing good football. Never know, may end up picking up another 50 points...
If I was Manager (Rooney take note) we have nothing to lose, lets play all out attacking football. Get Stretton back on the bench and let him run the opponents defence raggered in the 2nd half after being battered by CKR and Sam. Play Kamil has a wingback like he does for Poland. If he's not successful bring on Festy to keep teams on the back foot. We have a good squad that with a gamble of more attacking football can create more wins than the silly draws we have got so far.

We were down with -12 points. -21 points just cements it further.
it’s been a horrible past 18 months and the chickens have really come home to roost. It’s time to wipe the slate clean, and rebuild the club starting now with plans for next season.
Many clubs have used League one as a springboard to better things. I mean look at how Coventry have already overtaken a host of stale Championship clubs like Bristol City, Forest and Ourselves.
Stale Derby County, NO we will never go off

That's my worry too! Hopefully they fall off a bit and Exeter keep things up, two local games then. Cheltenham and Forest Green not a million miles away either.
Then when Plymouth stays down, we can pinch Ryan Lowe if Rooney goes. He's a fantastic young manager.
And it's another Scouser, would be our 4th one in charge if it happens

Oh wait a mo, maybe not, just my luck. them swapping places
They've only lost one league game and that was the first game of the season.

Call me a romantic fool, but I think getting behind the team, chanting the players names along with Wayne's will inspire the team and unhinge Bournemouth, who probably did'nt want this international break to stop their momentum. 3-0 to the Rams with the fans chanting and singing " You'll never kill the Derby"

Sorry if I get this wrong. If we can't transfer in any players, take on any loans, not go above 25 players in the 1st team squad. What happens in January if we lose the 2 players on the 6 month contracts and on top of that, we lose 3 or 4 players that other teams buy. The EFL wanting to help and save clubs does'nt make sense with these restrictions in place.
Or does the goalposts get moved if we have a new owner of the club prior to January or the end of the season ? Also, how long does the suspended -3 points stay in place

Everything will be fine.
Rooney’s at the wheel.
But there's no fuel in the tank, we are'nt allowed to refuel. We can't replace any parts, the MOT runs out at the end of the season.

The adjournment has been taken to allow Gibbo, that idiot from Wycombe and that Plop bloke from Bristol to have their say in the matter.

Just had a nose on the Bristol City forum, Mr (Have a) Pop at us is not a happy bunny. If we get any kind of result with the adminstration 12 point deduction and the other deduction being less than 9 points, he will probably write a letter to Gibson at Boro. The guy must spend hours writting about us on their forum, makes me wonder if he actually gets to any Bristol games.

That’s the point.
Will a new owner make a difference? Will January make a difference?
Not much will change if you have the same people in the same roles, not being held to account.
Having money to spend won’t help us if the scouting and recruitment set up is still porous.
Wait and see, like the rest of us.

My original point was questioning why he didn’t shake up scouting and recruitment upon getting the job permanently...
The question is, is he in the position to rehash the recruitment/scouting team due to monies etc. He may have put this to Mel and the CEO and was told NO (we've got no money). I'm sure Rooney Knows like the rest of us, if we had an out and out striker we would be a better team. Lets hope a new owner and January will be good for us

Why is Rooney the ‘magnet’ for investors?
The name, the brand doesn’t matter if he hasn’t got the skills to back it up.
And that's still to be proved, in the year that he's been in charge, it's been transfer embargo's, free transfers, loans, points deductions, covid (no fans in stadium to urge the team on), Injury to key players (Bielik, Knight etc), loss of fitness coach and the list could go on. If Messi was to hang his boots up this season and become coach of Notts County, the investors would also be knocking at the door even though he would be a novice coach.
Famous footballers attract sponsors/monies. Qatar are paying Beckham £150m to be one of their ambassadors for next years world cup.

I think Derby can stay up

14 wins could be possible (14 home games and 13 away to go). We need to beat the teams in the bottom half of the table and win a big percentage of our home fixtures. QPR, Blackpool, Sheff Utd, Brum, Hull, P'boro, Millwall, Barnsley, Preston, Bristol and Cardiff at home are all winnable games. Away games that are possible winnable matches, Bristol, Cardiff, Reading, Forest, Swansea and QPR. We would have to pick up about 5 draws to finish the season on 48 points which might keep us up.
