People saying Canelo looks a lot leaner this time as to have more speed and stamina...
Good one. He looks a lot leaner as he’s off the PEDs.
Canelo won’t have the power as last time, or perhaps the durability in terms of receiving punches, but he could be quicker and lighter on his feet. Looks like he’s intent on a counterpunching points win Mayweather-esque.
His behavior at the weigh-in was an attempt to get in GGG’s head. I don’t think it worked. He came across as a big douche and probably lost some fans over it.
GGG is an impecable professional. So hope he wins. Don’t care about my Mexican bias. I’m firmly in the GGG camp.

I actually think Khan is a world class fighter. Or was. Either way he deserves respect for what he has achieved in the game despite having a glass chin.
The thing is, how the body reacts to big blows isn’t skill. It’s entirely lucky. GGG having a rock solid chin isn’t some kind of ability he has learned in the gym, it’s pot luck. Same goes for Khan.
Khan has won 2 world titles and defeated elite level boxers despite not being able to take a punch. If he had a chin like GGG or Froch, we’d be talking about a potential all-time great as he has incredible hand speed and movement.
Likewise, if Froch didn’t have a rock hard chin, he’d probably only be European level at best.

Just watched Porter vs Garcia. Porter won by UD 116-112, 115-113, 115-113.
It was a really tough fight to score. Porter outpunched Garcia by a lot, but his punches weren't effective. You know how he fights, just charges forward and unleashed seven or eight punch combos up close.
Garcia was smothering most of them. Some got through to the body, but they didn't seem to make much of an impact.
If anything I'd say Garcia lost the fight rather than Porter winning it. Brook laid down the perfect game plan to beat Porter, straight rights as he comes in. Thurman did also, by stepping back and counter hooking.
Garcia has a devastating left hook, but he barely used it when Porter came charging. He's a better technical fighter, but he didn't dominate enough at range and certainly didn't counterhook enough.
Having said that, Garcia did dish out the better power punches and more eye-catching blows, but too few it seems.
The 116-112 was harsh. I had it a draw or one round either way.

I reckon Fury beats Wilder. I think he’ll make it a boring fight, dodge the windmills and box his way through.
Wilder isn’t a great boxer, just a very hard hitter. I can see him getting outclassed.

I have a cat, well actually he’s a hybrid gato montes. Found him all alone on the beach at just 3 weeks old. He used to sleep in my shoe, then he grew and now he’s about 1.5x the size of normal cats. Big paws and pointed ears give it away.

David Haye’s legs just went didn’t they? Age and his body meant it was never a fight he could win.
In the build-up he gave the impression he was in tip-top shape, but he clearly wasn’t.
I’m not saying he has conned the fans, but loads of people have paid up to watch a fight he simply couldn’t win unless he KO’d Bellow in the first two rounds.
Maybe he didn’t know himself the extent of it all? It was a shame for a once amazing boxer.

AJ’s resume is miles better than any other heavyweight out there.
He’s beaten Klitschko, Parker and Whyte. Three you’d put in the top seven in the world.
I’d like him to beat Povetkin next. He’s mandatory anyway, but it will only add to his resume.
Then there is only really Wilder left of active heavyweights worth beating.

AJ looked overweight and quite sloppy against Takam. I think he's conditioned himself well for this fight, as he knows he's in there with a well-respected opponent who looks like he has some boxing nous about him.
I don't think Parker will be able to KO him. He didn't really look like knocking out Hughie Fury, who by all means looks like a big soft teddy bear incapable of causing any real damage with his punches.
Parker knew this and just went aggressive on him, knowing he can take Fury's best shots. But he didn't really set himself up for any punishing shots.
I'll go with Alpha's prediction. Parker will try and outbox him, come up short quite comfortably but manage to make it to the final bell. Wide AJ points decision, like 119-109, 118-110 or something like that.

That was far too wide for my liking. Parker deserves great credit, he was the slicker boxer in there tonight.
    I had AJ winning 8-4, 7-5 at a push.
The judges who had him winning 10 and 11 rounds must have been watching a different fight.
I don’t think Wilder will be too afraid of what he saw in there.

AJ vs Fury doesn't get me excited. Fury is a technical boxer, who'll just shoulder role and jab all night. They won't engage, it'll probably be even duller than this one in terms of power punches.
At least with Wilder you'd expect him to come out swinging. He can't do technical boxing that guy.

You couldn't make a case for Parker winning the fight. He looked like a decent boxer, but the size difference between the two and AJ's range meant he always looked like he was on the defensive.
Judges score fights for different reasons, and they would have favoured AJ for being more aggressive and dominating the centre of the ring. The referee didn't allow a close-up fight, meant AJ could just win rounds using his range.
Everybody in world boxing wants to see AJ vs Wilder. It's highly likely that played a role too when it came to the scorecards.

Parker is quick, much quicker than I expected. Looks slick, but questionable power.
AJ looks the bigger man, you’d expect him to cut the ring off and start to be busier.

Povetkin Whyte would be a decent fight, and more realistic that getting Wilder.

You can understand the fear of getting countered with a big left hook, but it iind of seemed inevitable that was doing to happen anyway as Povetkin worked the body before throwing overhand rights.
Price is said to have immense power, but he never really threw straight rights.
He should have gone for it. I know that’s easy to say, but he has stamina issues, and he was never going to be able to outpoint Pov or even harm him in the later rounds.
He really missed his chance by not going for it at the beginning of round five.
