It's all falling apart now. You can already see the narrative changing to a more relaxed standpoint after the next July trigger. There are too many anomalies now and the Govt cant hold it together anymore. The lockdown train has left the station.

If you can fake them with a bit of lemon juice it begs the question of how much use are these tests anyway, other countries have binned them and we are using them to close down vast swathes of our lives?♂️

An interesting letter in the Times. It wasnt so long ago that if parents took kids out of school to go on holiday, even a day, that day would have profound effect on their education. You could be fined and last but not least imagine the effect it would have on teaching if several people did it would be catastrophic. People ended up in court.
What about now? entire years are being taken out, kids have missed months, i feel for the kids and young generation, they deserve better.

Around 80 percent of adults have antibodies.
67 percent have been fully vaccinated
85 percent have had one dose
The Pfizer vaccine is 96 percent effective against hospitalisation from the Delta variant and Astrazeneca 92 percent.
Those figures are from the ONS and range between the 10th and 20th of June.
We are at the point where you can't really do much more to stop it.

What percentage of infections end in hospitalization?
The Delta variant has been here since April.
We are waiting for something that isnt going to happen.
Data not dates, my arse.

So on top of my 11 year old daughter being sent home to isolate for 10 days, for the second time, my 8 year old lad has now had football cancelled for at least the next 2 weeks.
Rceeived an e-mail saying that due to the huge rise in Covid cases the club were implementing a 2 week circuit breaker (yes they actually used this term).
On the back of this I thought I would take a look at the situation in our area of Littleover and Heatheron. Turns out there have been 25 positive cases in the last 7 days...huge!
Spreading the net a bit further, Derby has had 442 positive cases in the last 7 days, with 0 hospitalizations and 0 deaths.
Im hoping this isnt a sign if things to come that has empowered people to make completely illogical decisions with absolutely no basis.

Assuming she is fit and healthy why would you want her to take a vaccine for which we don't yet know whether there maybe any long term complications?

All Australia have done is delay the inevitable by hiding away - their population is still massively vulnerable to covid. They are going to have to continue locking down and keeping their borders closed until well into 2022 as their vaccine take up has been abysmal.

Furthermore, places in the world that were initially praised are now coming under threat from the new highly transmissible variants and poor vaccination take up - due in part to the complacency their initial successes gave them.

We've done the Australia vs UK approach to death before, ultimately there was always going to be a cost and there were never going to be any winners.

Honestly, if I was PM I would take the very difficult decision (in terms of potential reprucussions) and open up fully right now.
Singapore may have low numbers now, but its proven that the vaccine doesn't stop the spread of variants. And it never will. You just don't get as ill as you potentially could have. So, obviously they've the got vaccination drive and decided that now is the time to open up, knowing cases will go and other variants will enter their population.
For me, that is a crucial decision to follow. Now is the time to repair the damage of some earlier decisions and get our economy going first.
Open it up - get it moving, produce, manufacture, build and create as quickly as possible with minimal amount of restrictions and get ahead of other countries.
We've got to go for it now in my opinion. 3 weeks will cost a lot more money and stop a lot more opportunities and jobs being created earlier.
Countries like Australia with low death rates will be in lockdowns for longer. They have zero herd immunity to any strain, and will rely fully on a vaccination drive that's still in first gear. And even then, the vaccine will not stop the spread of those strains. Will be interesting to see death rates in 6 months time. Hopefully having no immunity to a lot of strains won't cause havoc when they inevitably enter the population and spread quickly.

Caught covid yes, hospitalised no.
That is the point of the vaccinations. NO vaccination is 100%.

Yep each to their own, we have decided not to do things like holidays, meals out , football and such like until this all stops and the world goes back to normal,
chances are that’s our lives spoilt possibly forever but at some point you have to stand by what you believe ?♂️
