  1. Not terribly compelling, is it? We could have sold BJ and adhered to FFP rules, but we thought we'd royally take the piss instead πŸ˜‚
  2. But they got Lingz too mate, so it's not all been bad 🫒
  3. 31Vickers 6.0 - Sorry, but I still don't think Joe should have been dropped. Josh is a really nice lad and a decent stopper, but Joe is the #1 at this club and get fingertips to stuff other keepers at this level don't. 2Wilson 7.0 - I love this lad. Runs hard all game, always wants to take his man on, never goes missing and leaves it all on the pitch. He's a cracking signing and he'll do for the Championship too. 35Nelson - 6.5 - Another solid game, but I do think he misses the steadying influence of Nyambe a little, though in fairness, I think that's true of the defence in general. 6Cashin - 7.5 - The lad with the world at his feet, or at very least a very good career ahead of him, yet here he is, still at Derby, still grafting, still working for the team. 20Elder - 6.0 - Understandably rusty and was left high and dry for the second goal, but there's a player in there and I don't understand the need some have to jump all over the lad's s*** when he barely had any football. Way too early to judge, but some love to go early, don't they! 17Sibley - 6.0 - Not sure what to say about Sibbo these days. He's not, it would appear, ever going to be used where he needs to play, but the team is prospering all the same. I'd love to keep him as I know what he can do, but if he doesn't fit now, will he ever while PW is coach? 11MΓ©ndez-Laing - 8.0 - I'm now quite used to seeing him charging up our right flank, going two for everybody else's one. The lad just looks so happy in himself right now and the fact that is reflected in his form is a credit to both Warne and Nate himself. 8Bird - 7.0 - More than any other player in the side, Max convinces me that some fans don't have a fookin scooby. Solid again, despite being outnumbered in MF. 4Hourihane - 7.5 - Another who gets his pelters, but for me, his consistency is improving all the time. We're now seeing more decent run-outs than not and while you could argue that's what we should expect, it's pretty welcome in Casa 86 all the same. 7Barkhuizen - 8.5 MOTM - GTFI there Tommy boy. Been on your case a bit this season and you've only gone and made me look a right mug. This lad looks like he's benefitting from more game time and is starting to hit his straps in no uncertain terms. He was excellent last night. Fair play to Warne again. 5Bradley - 7.0 - Given him a 7 as nobody slagged him off last night so he must have been almost perfect. 19John-Jules - 7.5 - Showed really good awareness of players around him with some deft touches, even with the man mountain that is Burton's Sweeney halfway up his jacksie. Another player coming in for some stick, but we'd not have won the game without him. I'm convinced there's a deal more to come. 16Thompson - 7.0 - Brought his typical terrier-like attitude to the game and helped address the imbalance in midfield. He's a talented lad and his time will come sooner, rather than later. 9Collins - 8.0 - 17 goals. 17!! Did I mention he's got 17 goals. WarneWatch Again I think he got it mostly right. Folk, including myself, have highlighted the midfield imbalance, but we were 2-0 up and in cruise control before we fell asleep, so it wasn't that awful. Could we have responded quicker to changes they made? Perhaps, but the changes Warne did make helped swing the tide back in our favour and I think and hope that he is proud of what he's achieving, as after a shaky start, he's turned us into a team that can be very hard to beat.
  4. You know it's a dog's dinner when the cheeriest guy on the match thread is @Jourdan Yous lot need to up your game.
  5. No. Sadly a group on here have had a bit of a blouse rending episode, which has turned into a bit of an embarrassment as the capitulation they described failed to materialise and I am sad to report we now sit 1 point off top.
  6. Burton determined to turn this into a scrap. Ae have to keep our heads and stick to the plan. We're better than this lot, but we need to get the ball down and earn the right to play. Just an aside, but the ref's an absolute throbber.
  7. Great team goal. Super flick by TJJ to Nate who was already on his toes and Barks busting a gut to get and stay nearside of his marker. Love it.
  8. Wouldn't your living room be a warmer and more private place to fiddle with your banana?
  9. They always play out of their skins against us and I don't doubt they'll do so again tonight. We may not see it as a rivalry, but they most certainly do. A hard-fought win by the odd goal and I'll be quite happy enough.
  10. Nooooooooooooooo!!! Ah, well you get bragging rights all the same. Don't think I've landed a round-by-round bet in my life πŸ˜‚
  11. Bit harsh! He's only telling you what he's heard!
  12. And still it goes on. Great to see Cameron sabre-rattling too. What a time to be alive, eh!
  13. God no, if it's anything like in footy anyway! It's kind of part and parcel anyway, I was just surprised to see Fury resort to that against a guy who'd never had a pro-fight in his life. Embarrassing more than anything, really.
  14. Don't spend it all at once mate πŸ˜‚
  15. I haven't looked yet as I didn't want to jinx the fight with Smith, but you'd think Bivol will be comfortably favourite. Before last night I'd have been leaning the same way, but that might have been because I thought Beterbiev looked a little off it early on against Yarde, whom I thought he'd walk simply through. I thought he looked better last night, despite a fair layoff and now I'm scratching my head as I'm not even sure Bivol can stand 12 rounds of what Beterbiev dishes out. Biggest fight of the year for me, an absolute firecracker. EDIT: 10/11 the pair just checked
  16. Yeah, you seem really good at calling fights after they've been fought. Give yourself a gold star tinsel tits! Jeez, triggered or what! πŸ˜‚
  17. Well we'll see next time it gets tickled won't we. Don't get me wrong, he's favourite to qin but if you actually read my post. I've said for me AJ is vulnerable to a puncher and Ngannou is no 13/2 shot. I stand by both comments. I don't remember you saying as much as the time. Someone did though. The Bivol comparison, which I think I've made quite clear in my original post, is that the Canelo's camp did not fully appreciate what they were taking on. Very few did, despite your claims, as the Mexican went off a 1/4 favourite. I've simply suggested I think the same error is being made with Ngannou and at at the prices, I'm happy to take that chance and I'm not sure what all your years of watching boxing have to do with anything either.
  18. Moloney vs Sanchez fight an absolute full-on banger. Different fighters, but such a good match up and both lads game as you like. They've punched themselves to a standstill there πŸ˜‚
