Safe or not, it's the away ground I feel least comfortable at. Upper tier, narrow concourse, narrow exits, no alterations up there since the 70s (although the rest of the ground has been somewhat revamped.)
I have a former work colleague who is a big SW fan and he's always very apologetic about it.
I'm rather relieved they limit attendance up there!
Ah well

If it’s a dead rubber for Wednesday on the final day they may as well just give us the whole stand and take the money.
Why?
It could be the day we lift the trophy so we would fill it with our fans.

It's not because your away end is unsafe then?
That's a relief.
Stay classy.

Why only 2.5k as who away end upper holds about 3k.
Because we were given 2.6k so it's payback.

Luckily have a relative who works for Port Vale's owner, so I'm in with the prawn sandwiches.
Apologies I misread your post I was on a about the last game of the season.

Port Vale sold out pretty quickly baring a few tickets here and there popping back up. A few old colleagues have clubbed together for hospitality to get in, costing them about £60 each for a private box, 3 course meal and drinks, then all the usual hospitality benefits. Quite a bargain really.
Yeah your away numbers have been impressive this season

I'm there for my first away game of the season, so this is definitely going to happen.
Will you get a ticket? Rumours of a 2.5k allocation for you

… and don’t have him as our third choice! ?Perhaps he is our 007 in a Number 1 jersey. His improvement has been immense and I doubt theres a Derby fan who doesn’t rate him very highly now
If you've seen my posts I rate Joe, I would kept him over Dawson, glad he's doing well

Their up there with Walsall and Crewe as bogey sides. Saying that we didn't win at St Andrews and Hillsborough for about 50 years. Then we couldn't seem to stop. We deffo owe them for the home game, where I'm sure one of them presented the ref with photos of him wearing nothing but a pair of wellies in a field of goats just before kick off.
I remember the day you broke your Hillsborough hoodoo. The 5-2 in the early stages of 97/98 season

I think so.
probably get doubled by port vale on Tuesday night knowing us.
Come back to me when you've been done home and away by f****** Stevenage.
That was the last time we got promoted from this league, got 93 points to pip the Blades to 2nd, they ended up with 90

I think we are due a blip if Sheffield and Plymouth are.
I'm expecting a loss soon, we're 15 unbeaten in the league and 20 overall, you're 13/18 aren't you

Deal but I'm not sure you will beat them. You have been scraping through against lesser teams. Coming unstuck soon
Based on? Winning 1-0 or 3-0 gives you the same points, we have the best GD in the league, conceded the least and are 3rd highest scorers.
We've conceded 6 in our last 15 games.

Look wednesday had a dip earlier on the season no reason why wont dip again and Plymouth too.
We are likely to but we are clinical at the moment with a few missing through injuries

Wednesday play Plymouth in a couple of weeks time. The best thing about that is they both can’t win!!!
Would like to Plymouth lose. Ultimately, I think Wednesday have more strength in depth over the rest of the season but Plymouth could fade.
We then play Ipswich. If we beat both you can chase them for 2nd. Deal?

Nar they are not they will slip up and we shall be ready to take over from them.
We've got 24 points over the last 10 games, only conceded 6 in the last 15.
It will take some effort to overhaul us

Just looked 93 for Harkes. Never really settled here and as I say he had a bad 94. The open goal miss in the playoff final and then that cross at USA 94 Escobar turned into his own net. I imagine if someone's murdered because they turned your cross into their own net it plays on your mind somewhat. Think he headed back to the states 12 months or so later.
Aye that works out, was summer after we lost both cup finals, Sinton came in and Harkes shunted out for him.
Think the summer 94 his affair with a national team mates wife came out publicly too

Yeah, back when we spent a lot of money under Pickering. A British record fee for a defender in Short. Didn't work but individually they were decent players and young so we actually got enough money from them for Smith to rebuild. You bought Pembridge I think for about 300k more than we spent on him. He could take a free kick as I recall.
Always remember the headline in the paper when Kitsons move to Newcastle was off and he came back. You greedy Kit . Kitson demands to be Newcastle's highest paid player on 250 k a year. Get that in two weeks now and we're only talking mid 90's. Obviously he lowered his demands as they signed him in the end.
I remember us signing Pembridge, it was pre Internet era 95
The local paper placards read Owls land Rams star for 800k
I was hoping for Kitson, imagine my disappointment

We had that with John Harkes. Probably not tripe, but not much better. Certainly no goals from 35 yards like that cup game. He did miss an open goal at Wembley for us that someone who'd had 10 pints would have buried. Not sure he ever recovered from that one.
Harkes signed 94 didn't he? He was heartbroken Francis sold him, he was only in his mid 20s then
