Ahhh yes the February March melt down. How I’ve missed you.

Kindest thing that could happen is to slip down to seventh. Imagine we somehow get up through the play offs, how vile will next season be? We can’t get significant reinforcements in with our transfer kitty and signing on fee and agent fee of £0

Yes Lampard did have options. He could  and should have started with Marriott and Waghorn. They probably couldn’t last the 90 minutes, but were scoring freely. And Villa’s reaction when they finally did get on the pitch confirms that they should have started.
We should have hit them hard, got in front then changed the strikers over, which is much better than saving your better strikers for when you are chasing the game. Oh, and neither should Frank have left it soooooo late to bring them on, ie too late.

Would love to know what good booing your home team does, nothing in my opinion, the players just drop their heads even more. If not happy walk out.

Well that was rubbish wasn’t it !

wildsmith - unlucky and still shouldn’t be beaten at his front post
smith - he was awful to be honest - very poor game
Davies - not confident it seemed but no worse than any of the others
Cashin - worse I have seen him play - didn’t win headers, knocked of the ball and taking way too many chances lately
Forsyth - he did ok considering what was going on around him
Bird - did nothing positive to be honest
    Hourihane - just as Bird
Mendiz - nothing to work with I hope he isn’t injured
Sibley - nothing to work with but could have got himself involved
Springett - out of his depth
Collins - he just not very good is he
subs - McGoldrick - should always start at home - mistake not starting in my mind
Knight - should always be playing if available
    Roberts - did well
    Dobbin - did little
    Barkhauzen - better than Spingett
we had absolutely nothing in midfield and next to nothing up front putting silly pressure on a defensive line that looked indecisive
Throw ins - until McGoldrick and knight came on not once did anybody come for a throw in
we were dreadful and we didn’t help by not selecting our best players

I don't think it is. it's more the principle that to get to the channel, they've gone through any number of safe countries where they could and should have applied for asylum. By not doing this, then they become economic migrants (legal or otherwise) and should be treated as such.

No, I don't. If these people are so desperate, why on earth wouldn't they choose to not pay silly money to criminals to make a treacherous boat crossing and instead apply for asylum and the chance of a better life in one of the 26 European countries that apparently don't bat an eyelid at this kind of thing?

RE the notion that referees cannot possibly be corrupt, and that the ruling bodies don't have an agenda: In his autobiography, Mark Halsey openly states that the Premiership leaned on them to favour the big teams, and to keep the big name players on the pitch. And just this week, Mark Clattenburg, who for some reason was very highly rated, is quoted as saying to either a Leicester or Everton player "I should have sent you off, but i didn't do it because I wanted yous to win".
ANd if it is just incompetence and not anything else, then these crap decisions would affect both teams in a match equally, but they don't. Think of the blatant time-wasting in recent games which the officials did nothing about. Even on Saturday when the ref booked a player for throwing the ball away fairly early on - he didn't book anybody else for doing the same thing. And the number of strong, even violent challenges he let go was ridiculous. Plus 2 good penalty shouts turned down, then a non-penalty given against. Or last season where a huge number of clear penalty shouts were turned down. IT has gone on match after match after match after match after match after match, with one team getting all the leniency. Yes, we have had a few dodgy decisions go in our favour, which may be incompetence. But there is much m ore than that.
Even so, although last night's decision did decide the game, it is still our fault that we have to rely on the ref getting it right. We should make it that his crapness doesn't actually matter. The game should either have been out of sight, or we should have shut up shot and kept them out, or even  changed our formation and tactics to make them have to adapt to what we have done, instead of the other way round.

I disagree with that; it was clear and obvious to 95% of those watching that the player feigned being tripped. The correct decision is fk to Derby and yellow card to the Plymouth player. Many Plymouth fans have admitted to it not being a penalty. So, the conclusion is we were cheated out of a point and Plymouth cheated 2 points.
The poor standard of referees in League One is clearly impacting on results and League positions. By putting the focus on White you are taking the focus off the real issue: cheating players and poor referees.

This bunch of renegades were 16 games unbeaten, without ever looking like losing. Last seven games have been a real turn around from that. Three defeats and some pretty poor performances. Bird being injured can’t be the sole reason.
also the having a club to support so be happy thing is getting old for me. That’s in the past, I want to look at the league and think how we progress and get back to the championship. Can’t just turn up and be blindly happy forever because of last season.

So there were two main reasons we ended up with just one point today. The first one is Derby County FC, and the second one is that we were well and truly EFL'd today. I will expand on the last point, resurrecting my penchant for giving refs a hard time. Let's get that out of the way.
For the first 30 minutes I thought he did really well, and was going to outdo Ruby Tuesday, starting with coming in hard on timewasting, and booking Leahy for throwing the ball away. Not being undermined by poor decisions we played tremendously well for the first half, and were deservedly 2 up at half time. However, from the 30 minute mark onwards the ref let them kick the ball away and waste time with importunity. He rightly booked McGoldrick for a professional foul, some 5 minutes after the event because of playing the advantage, then having to wait for the ball to go out of play. Excellent refereeing. But then he got the mandatory EFL edict and his performance flipped.
I noticed from that point onwards we hardly got any free kicks near the opposition penalty area. Leahy was obviously trying to run the match without playing any football, bar taking the penalty, which the self-important little runt stole from their normal penalty taker! He was in the ref's ear all match, and should have been carded for it, which would have been his second yellow, of course. That was never going to happen, and towards the end of the match the ref had several "arm around his mate" moments. Sickening!
Wildsmith was blatantly tripped while shaping up to play the ball out and nothing was given, and same again when Smith had his legs taken from under him to stop a counter attack. This time the ref hid behind playing the advantage, but didn't book the player at the next break of play. Very poor inconsistency. Similarly Dobbin being almost murdered on the touch line produced not even a verbal warning. Why he didn't actually wear a yellow and blue shirt I don't know. Twice Shrewsbury players simply gently sat down and won - no, were gifted a free kick, so a soft penalty was virtually nailed on. The was a huge shout for handball and penalty for Derby towards the end of the match which obviously wasn't given - anyone from the North Stand care to comment? Actually I have just seen a replay of both incidents, and Rooney does "make contact" (but only just) with the Shrewsbury player, but it was nothing like the all-in wrestling which is allowed in the area all match long. And there was a hug shout from the North Stand (which is normally quite well-mannered at times like this, and the players immediately appealed - both a sure sign something was amiss. It turns out all that was amiss was the referee!
In the first half we were well on top, and although Shrewsbury gave us a good game, we could have been 3 or 4 up at half time, and could possibly end up getting 4 or 5. Well that's what it felt like at the break. But as ever we came out half asleep and took ages to get going again, an all-too common a trait for Derby County. And Wildsmith should have done better with the free-kick, irrespective of him colliding with the post. At the same time Steve Cotterill had obviously kick a load of backsides, and changed his tactics because Shrewsbury came out for the second absolutely on it. Even so, despite being under the cosh for at least the first 20 minutes, we still created 4 or 5 really good opportunities, but put them all over the bar, except Dobbin's header, which was met with a stunning save.
Actually I was expecting the usual Steve Cotterill football, which isn't very easy on the eye, but his team put up a good showing in the first half, without really threatening. But the second half saw not only a better performance, but also the Cotterill ugly stuff as well. And although Paul change the team a little, we are starting to see the consequence of a small squad in a tough, unrelenting league. WE looked quite leggy in the second half, with Barkhuisen blowing hard early on in the second half. Unless thins change in our favour, second place is out of reach, but we are currently fairly well secure in the play-offs. Let's keep the faith. And let's stay right behind our boys, and never give up.
It isn't over until the crap referee sings!

    Pathetic post.
They were poor in the second half (and Shrewsbury stepped up their game) but to call for the players to "hang their heads in shame" is ridiculous. I'm sure they're as disappointed as we are.
