It's rare that teams run away in this league, and there will be streaks of form. As long as we are there or thereabouts after Christmas, that's where we should EXPECT to be with a new side, comprised of young players who are learning, and older playing who are past their peak. Few more additions in Jan to give more options...

It was 35 degrees plus, and they barely had the ball in the second half. Barnsley had a couple go down with cramp, and ran out of a bit of steam in the last ten; we also managed the game well in that last period which was good to see.

Just for a little context, Burton drew 0-0 at Belper last night. Seemed like a mix of youth, first team, and trialists (including one S. Winnall).

I'd not be surprised if it's a similar season to '95-'96 in terms of there being a big rebuild, a slow start, then it all clicking. Obviously we won't have a 'Stimac' in October (January maybe?), but I don't think we'll smash teams from the outset, and that things will take time.

In fairness to Taylor the injury he got was pretty horrific; think he'd have potentially played more at the higher levels if not for that.
