I'm [probably] going to be on Antiques Roadshow :)

The Antiques Roadshow team were filming at RAF Marham where I am stationed.

I was working the day in uniform, and was present during decent chunks of the close-up filming. There is no guarantee that anything I appeared in will be used on the show, but the chances are pretty likely. The show doesn't air until at least September, and could be anytime up until Spring (they film lots of locations, and some bigwig decides the order further down the line).

Look out for ceramics designed (but not painted) by Picasso and a Locket with two photographs from 1908. They film every interview about 6 times, it's ridiculous.

Unfortunately I am going to Afghanistan soon for nearly 5 months, and may not get to see the show 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Edit: Fiona Bruce has got a lovely bum.

I will have limited internet access, so I'll still post 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />. Obviously I'm not going just yet, but I will post a message when I'm settled out there (I will be going unless I do something stupid, such as break my leg).

I'm only fixing planes out there, so I hopefully shouldn't be in too much danger (I don't know of anyone being killed doing the job I'm doing out there). I certainly wouldn't want to do the job that the Army, Marines, RAF Regiment, Bomb Disposal, Medical Teams (etc) do out there, they are certainly braver men & women then I.

I've been on 2 Sqn since last May.

Nice, a lad off my fitters course went there a few months back i'm sure.

Arm/Mech/Fairy?

Might be a long shot but I remember talking to someone, who was at marham 4 or so years ago, (On the DET old forum) about joining up who was a fairy.. could it be you? 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Dav's dad is an ex RAF armourer Trekkie, putting bombs on the mighty Phantoms. If it's possible for a human to have 9 lives, it's him. He was almost schlepped good and proper by the propellors on a Shackleton. It was coming straight towards him and he was sat on the bomb trolley, back to it with ear defenders on. He had a lucky escape cos he happened to pass inbetween the 2 propellors.

He had loads of lucky escapes, he got shot at and the bullets went in one side of the jeep he was in and shot out the other.... he's walked away from loads of stuff.

You might know him if you're on E-goat (forum for service lads & lasses past & present).

Stay safe and keep an eye on your back 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Keep in touch, and all the best. Keep those planes flying.

They also serve who (only?) stand and wait. (Milton).

It was ground crew who did the incredible work on the Spits in the B of B giving the pilots the ability to get back up against you know who in 1940. Proud tradition mate.
