Montgomery isn't exactly Mr Popular. Sounds like a man who has had his day. If he can't pass then we don't want him. Battlers are great as long as they then play the simple ball. Hoofers only cause pressure. We have enough panickers. What we need is a composed footballer who can keep his position and calm things down when we take the lead. I don't know what he is like recently, so can't cast judgement because I'd just be lying, havent seen him play in about 3 years in all honesty, someone of that ilk I would like perhaps a bit younger but suppose we need experience. He is not renowned as a great passer and is more of a ball winner. If there is anything in this I would be surprized unless a move for Green takes place. I'm happy with the job the squad are doing..... but we lack depth.. theres nothing on the bench to change things when we are losing, plus a few injuries it will be harder still ( Please dont take this as a moan ) it seems to be a fine balance kitty and depth...which is out of cloughs control. imo we wouldn't be overloaded with another defender , midfielder and striker!!!
