That Daily Boyce is reporting:

Nigel Clough's scouting network is believed to encompass all local youth teams.

Only the other day a Clough scout (no doubt a personal friend, or "old boy") was seen watching the maternity ward at the local Royal Derby Hospital for players that could be loaned in to cover the recent chronic injury crisis at the club.

On hearing a lady comment "owwh! this one's gunna be a footballer!" about her unborn child, the scouting wheels suddenly turned into action.

A vigil was carried out just outside the delivery suite to ward off unwanted attention from local rivals Notts Forest or one the Premiership big guns like Bolton, Wigan or Chelsea.

Unfortunately, the newborn turned out to be a female, but this goes to show that no stone goes unturned in Derby County's quest to find young local talent.

Seems like a great prospect, highly rated by the fans there and obviously Hodgson as well. Descibed as a centre midfielder who can also play centre half. [url=http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=1947.0]http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=1947.0

Actually, I think any player we can ad to the squad who has quality will be good and would provide some more options. He sounds like he could provide competition for Bryson and Hendrick in the middle of the park. We would have to choose a player like 17 year old 1st year scholar Hughes to find a similar kind of player in our own ranks. Connor Doyle is not an out and out midfielder type, though I think he players that role of late with the reserves.

but another under 20`s prospect seems highly unlikely considering we have 3 or 4 now in the 18 man playing squad. Possibly following Wood to Brum, as was a few days ago [url=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2051113/Birmingham-want-sign-West-Broms-George-Thorne.html]http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2051113/Birmingham-want-sign-West-Broms-George-Thorne.html

GREAT, another un-needed signing, Well done clough..

How is he unneeded? The biggest problem we've had in the last few weeks is getting overrun in midfield. I've no idea if this lad is the exact type of player we need, but a bit of quality in central miefield would be very welcome if he can provide it.

I meant if we did sign him, it would be un-needed, who would you take out? bryson or hendrick? cause i wouldnt take no one out, we need a striker instead of playing school boys, to many youngsters and not enough experience, but its just my opinion.. dont take it to heart
