Jimbo Ram
Watched an old edition of the Big Match yesterday from 1976. Main match was a thriller between Spurs and Everton at WHL, 3-3 draw. After the game Brian Moore interviewed Alfie Conn who was a striker for Spurs. He played for Rangers and Celtic as well. Out of interest I looked up some information about him and saw that he joined us in 1979 but didn't play a game for us?? Anyone know what happened? i-Ram
I suspect he was the last throw of a worn dice by The Doc. He went in 1979 to be replaced by Addison. Conn I imagine was a difficult guy to control off the pitch (not an Addison type of player).
RamNut
I don’t think we signed him. We were linked but I don’t remember him ever signing.
admira
I think he did sign (as several websites show him on our books for a few months) but never played.

Yes, I agree. He looked quite decent in the highlights of the Spurs game...just wondered how he didn't get a game for us...

richinspain
I remember being really pleased when we appointed ??(Yes, I have used the right emoji to point to him). Even Colin Addison was an improvement when he left.
hintonsboots
Ripped up parking ticket on the pavement along with a playing card and a boarded up window, a sign of things to come. I think this was his first day at the BBG.....just off to sign Alfie Conn.?
