The Salzburg Connection.

Worth the price (free on Youtube!)

Daft, convoluted plot.

Redeemed from obscurity by the lovely, wicked Karen Jensen. Great scene (for 1972!) where she gets her come-uppance. (1hr 23).

Best point is it's only 90 minutes long but seems much longer......and we get to stay alive too!?

Between two Ferns: The Movie = 2/10

Crap. The interviews are a giggle but all the rubbish surrounding it that makes up the movie is not funny. It's like British humour for beginners. I can't see it being funny to many over here.

Fractured = 7/10.  It's like a movie you already saw. You know how it ends but you still watch it for the action. It's quite a clever journey to a not so clever destination.

The Joker 10/10

Bit later than I hoped for but watched it tonight. Loved every second. Exactly what it should have been.

Think the Joker has been up staging BatMan since Jack Nicholson. He's always had an interesting story to tell and I think this was told in such a way that covers all bases. Even lives up to the Heath Ledger Joker and if anything gives that more depth.

You have to be intrigued by The Joker though. If he's not a character you wanted to get to know better then the film will be wasted on you. Finally a film where we don't have to want BatMan to win.

Is it me or did the batman come across as the worse guy than the joker?

Yeah I liked that. It was great to see BatMan through Joker's eyes instead of the other way around.

I can see how the film is dodgy for some people though. You get on board with how unfair and lonely he sees the world. There's a justice in what he does. And along with Heath Ledger I think he's become relatable to modern society.

BatMan is the rich do gooder and he probably needs a shake up now. After the last two Jokers it's hard to want him to win.

That scene at the Wayne Manor gates did him no favours, did it? Privileged little poo!

I say last two Jokers but I forgot Jared Leto. Should have been a good actor for the role but they somehow made a mess of that film.

Yeah, thats the issue. No matter how poo life gets, or how bad you feel, self pity is the worst thing for your overall happiness. Having said that when the joker shot the host I wasnt like "What a terrible person", I was more like "Take that you popular celebrity shithead". Dangerous right? But its only a film. But some people have it so hard in life, they think like that all the time. Now that really dangerous.

The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth

Definitely.

I bet a film like this is porn to the sort of kids that do the high school shootings. He's even more of an icon to the edges of society than Heath Ledger. The film didn't really carry a good message which is ok if you take it for what it is. A film.

This is a sequel to The Shining?

Yes, a sequel to The Shining. I hadn't seen The Shining before going to watch, which meant I was a bit slow to pick up on the subtle nods to it, but it wasn't super important to have watched it so I could enjoy it without.

I bet The Shining looks dated and pants now.

But at the same time, our society does have a responsibility to raise kids better, and not to beat down men (especially as they get violent when they have no purpose) who are struggling. A man who has nothing to lose is the most dangerous kind of man

I think the film carried a great message to be honest.

Will be lost on some people though who will see it as a story of a guy who goes from nothing to something rather than descends into anarchy.

You know they'll be a sequel too. It's been too successful to leave alone

I always had it bigged up to me as a classic, but I can't bring myself to watch old films. Everything before about 2010 looks extremely dated and rubbish compared to today's film standards. Reminds you of how far they've come with technology.

Makes me feel old. I still love Jurassic Park 1.

Good Boys : Wasnt sure what to expect with this as the 3 main characters are kids, but from the makers of Superbad etc and Seth Rogen producing it.

So Funny, not a kids film in any respect...first film thats had me crying with laughter in a while. 9/10

That's still the best of the series. I remember seeing those cgi dinosaurs and had the same feeling as I did after watching Star Wars. Cinema changes forever.

The majority of effects were still old fashioned models.

But they were excellent as was the film, probably a good example that CGI mixed with old fashioned special effects is more pleasing on the eye than a total CGI fest they seem to go for today
