West Ham charged with breaching anti-doping regulations - no doubt they'll be let off with a slap on the wrist (as per usual...)

So potentially they have given an incorrect address meaning that certain players were unable to give a sample? Am I reading it correctly?

They reckon it's an admin mistake - but yes, I'd assume that if the doping authorities don't have the correct address for some of the players, then they are unable to provide samples when required and therefore technically they've failed tests - I think it's known as doing a Rio....

The FA Have issued a statement.

"We are sad to report the breach of regulations relating to whereabouts of West Ham players relating to anti-doping regulations.

We at the FA take this very seriously and as such have decided that a significant fine of £1000 will be issued to West Ham for this offence. We understand that a monetary punishment is not always fully appropriate and as such will also be issue a suspended ban from competing in the Premier League of 2 years should West Ham re-offend on more than 18 occasions.

Also we recognise concerns that our colleagues at the EFL have raised regarding the suspended ban and that should West Ham get relegated that the Ban issued will be meaningless. As such in recognition of the EFL's concerns we will be issuing West Ham a further punishment of 100 points per season starting immediately for the next 2 seasons to mitigate any risk of relegation to the EFL.

These additional points will be taken into account when calculating West Hams league position.

In addition, while West Ham accept they are ultimately responsible for this breach it is recognised that the computer system installed at the olympic stadium is dated and may have been partly responsible for the errors that occured, and as such to try and avoid further occurances (and to ensure any further breach is purely the responsibility of the club) a new system will be funded under the rental agreement in place at a cost of £35 million, which will be made up of £25,000 for new hardware, £25,000 software, £50,000 for installation, with the remaining being made up of administration fees payable to the club upon installation.

We would like to thank West Ham for their co-operation during the investigation."

Hang on. They're being fined a "substantial" £1000 and then being paid £35 million to upgrade their computer system?

Exactly.

Protest happening at West Ham according to Five live. Hundreds congregating along the concourse by the Directors area.

Apparently fighting among themselves - they'd previously abandoned a planned protest after some fans threatened others....muppets

Sith Happens

Apparently Gold and Sullivan and their families had to be escorted to safety. Fans invading the pitch during the game.

Time for the PL to punish their precious West Ham, points deduction needed.

Dr Noble doing an on pitch prostate examination....:o

Nah, hes just looking for the Fans brains.

Wouldnt surprise me if Noble doesnt get a punishment, if a fan runs on the pitch a steward or player should be allowed to punch his lights out.

Don’t we pay for the stewards at that stadium - you know us the taxpayers

Probably, we will probably pay more now for the next game to get more in.
