Have to smile at the hype SKY are making of todays Old Firm game, a game that is really a League 1 v Top 6 Championship game in England...

Maybe because its such a rare thing, its not like it doesnt happen at least 4 times a season..oh er wait....

Been watching it in the breaks of the proper footie going on in London. The Rangers striker we are meant to be looking at looks like a slow lump of lard and has been offside most of the time, worse than Benty. Dire stuff. Like going to a nice plush restaurant with a good atmosphere and being served up cold, soggy burger and chips and school rice pudding for afters......

Fair comment, they drew with Man City twice in the champs league last season.

Over the course of a season they would easily get more points than the likes of Burnley, WBA, Stoke.

If you was to pick Celtic team up right now, restart the season in the Championship, they would be right up there and most likely go up.

Wouldnt walk it like they do the SPL, be a few more defeats along the way.

They are a huge club, with the money on achieving promotion they could quite easily push on and become top half PL.

Scottish Pub league and I say that as someone born in Scotland who still visits regularly.

I'm biased but the league up North needs defending.

It's a league full of hard working pro's and clubs that give youngsters a chance. Id say there's more of a connection between the clubs and the fans compared to England.

Yes, the standard is not the best, but there's more passion on show in an average league game up North.

Honestly, the lack of basic skills from both teams at Pride park yesterday was embarrassing. Easy passes being sprayed into the East and West stands, players running the ball out of play with no one within 5 yards of them.

The way Waghorn, Garner, Makay (all struggled in Scotland) have made a good impression in the Championship this year suggests the gulf in class isn't as wide as some people think.
