Day
Guardiola apologists will be on to tell us he’s exactly what Man City need and they should spend £50m on him
Derbados
Is Guardiola on smack or something? One of the richest clubs in the world and he's going after Johnny Evans???? He's a fraud
oomarkwright
They turned it down too! Why don't they go for grant Hanley for 5? Maybe too goofball? Can defend tho which is what city need. If not he can still come here for 3m.

Bris Vegas
Man City are likely to play three at the back this season. They have done throughout pre-season and at Brighton too, and so far they've looked brilliant. But they need another CB. They have Kompany, Stones, Otamendi and Mangala as their only options. Mangala doesn't have a long-term future there, while Otamendi can be improved on. You can't play three at the back and only have four options. If one gets injured, you're then praying your only other three options don't pick up an injury or suspension, not to mention Pep doesn't see Mangala as a long-term City player. To play for City under Pep you need to be a good on the ball. There are plenty of decent defenders out there, but if you can't move the ball quickly, then that won't work for them. Van Dijk would be a great option, but I doubt City have another £60 million to spend without falling very close to the FFP line. They probably have a budget now of about £25mill, and I guess they see Jonny Evans as a player who is comfortable with the ball and a player who will provide solid enough competition for the other three CBs. RadioactiveWaste
They might as well bid for Keogh, he seems to fit the man city style of defending.

Daft as it may seem, 2 years back, under the same circumstances and Manager, they might have bid for Shackell from Burnley.
