The frustrating thing is, when he does score, a majority of them tend to be blinders...

The backheel/flick against Brighton like he does it every day in training comes to mind lol

I think Will would still get into this team, he played much closer to Martin than the current midfield do, and was always making himself available to take the ball in a forward position. From an attacking perspective, Butterfield of Johnson need to commit to being closer to Martin,  but maybe that is a deliberate decision to make us tighter at the back.

A fully fit Hughes still walks into the starting 11 in my opinion.  Different class at this level.

Hughes is a better player than Johnson and Butterfield put together.

Well yeah, but that depends on the severity of the initial incident and the treatment. Thanks to medical advances these injuries are rarely career ending these days bar a freak incident like Shaun Barker's.

This guy was spouting this stuff like it was actually the case and there is a club wide cover-up - completely ignoring the facts that its wasnt that bad, Will had the surgery pretty much straight away and has said he is well on the way to recovery.

hmmmm..... Speed of treatment isn't always the major factor. Ligament damage and operations to repair always have an element of risk of not being successful. Noone will really know until he starts training/playing again

On track for a Feb return according to PC

Return to training, as oppose to team I imagine? ACL-injured players are usually in training for a month or more before they play.

That would be a massive boost.

Think everyone is fine with him missing the season so if we can get him back... wow.

I love Brad n Butter. It's a squad game now and it's great that our midfield doesn't crumble without Hughes like it used to. It can be a bit slow and static but with Johnson's beastly presence and Thorne's mostly powerful performances we do look quite comfortable both with and without the ball.

Will is like grease though. He's better than all of them at finding a way to get other players in space with the ball.

Butterfield is class and never drops anyone in the pooh. But Hughes just seems to put other players on the front foot way more often.

Not every game, and that's where Butterfield, Bryson, Hendrick... man, Clement is a lucky guy

Think will is class but we have to wait and see how he performs in the team set up under clement before we can make real comparisons with Johnston and butterfield as we are far more restrained now than last two seasons ,, he may come in and be given a more defence first minded remit and also find it harder to shine with less fluid movement of the rest of the side ,,, we are a very different side now in terms off attacking , we seem to have one eye always on our shape in case we lose the ball

I think we miss him more now than we did before Butterfield and Johnson arrived. Last season he often played too deep because at the time needs must, but in a side with Thorne and Johnson playing more of the anchor role, Will would have more freedom to support the attacking players - just as he did when selected for the England U21. His vision and superb weight of pass could create havoc against the tight opposition defences we are now seeing more often at the iPro.
