If they are in contract they will stay I think, but this summer is bonanza time to attract young players. After visiting the iPro and the Academy:-

Q.Would you like to play for our U21s or U18s. We have a fantastic Academy and both teams are playing against top quality teams. Oh and our owner and coaches are totally committed to bringing players through to the first team squad.

A. Yes please. Where do I sign?

I totally missed this transfer but I was looking on Transfermarkt when I noticed Charles Vernam from our U21s has gone out on loan to IBV Vestmannaeyja in the Icelandic equivalent of the Premier League.

‘We hope also to supporters IBV, near and far, successfully take against the player and he will experience the true atmosphere of the Aegean games IBV.’

Poor lad's already up against it! :p

Arsenal beat Blackburn 2 - 1 so Arsenal v Aston Villa for the Final to decide who will join us in Division One. Close one to call.

Arsenal, unless they re-bottle.

Santi Cazorla is set to play for Arsenal's Under-21s on Tuesday as they face Aston Villa in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League Division 2 play-off final at Emirates Stadium.

The Spain midfielder played an hour as the Gunners beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in last Monday’s play-off semi-final, also at Emirates Stadium. It was his first appearance since sustaining a knee injury in the 1-1 Barclays Premier League draw at Norwich City in November.

Both he and the club have confirmed that he is in line to feature for the U21 team again as they battle for promotion in the 7pm kick-off.

Arsenal play at home again because of finishing the regular season second, higher than Villa's fourth, and the winning team will join Division 2 champions Derby County in the top division next season.

Just as well that Arsenal lost four of their last six matches, despite beating us at the iPro. Leagues are won by the team with the most points, that was us. We are the Championes! COYU21R. Should be some good games next season at the Academy and iPro, Phoenix

True. It's always been my mantra that points obtained are worth more than games in hand.

For that reason, I was convinced that Fester would win the league well before any of the pundits thought it even a possibility. Sadly.

Arsenal U21 call in the ringers!

Seems like either Arsenal really want to win this play-off or they’ve got such strength in depth. Cazorla obviously needs minutes on the pitch after a lengthy spell out so he starts as does Coquelin. The Gunners also include Chambers and Gnabry. Lots of first-team experience there.

1-1 After 37 mins

Just something I've noticed from this photo; Callum Guy's the only player on that photo dressed in a smart manner. The first team also arrive at the match in smart gear.

I'd guess that he was in and around the first team squad on Saturday and wouldn't be surprised to see him on the bench Monday.

Mate I don't think you get the appreciation you deserve. You've kept me (and I'm sure many others) updated on all things U21 this season and I now feel that I have a good knowledge of our young lads, despite not watching any of their games this season! Just thought I would mention it, as I don't think anyone else has.

And before you say anything @Norman, this is not a beg for likes, this is genuine!:p
