TelTheRam
I am I alone in being puzzled by Peter Sagan's ability to amongst the leading riders, irrespective of whether it's time-trialing, sprinting, mountain climbing, almost every single day. It's not natural.Especially as Tinkoff was sounding off about how he would liked to have reduced his salary earlier in the season because he was achieving nothing.I think you might have the reason.got to feel a bit sorry for him though - 10 times in the top 5 i think

TelTheRam
Ok. Misunderstood your post.anyway hope Meuspach is already on The Alp as they said on Eurosport yesterday that the road may be closed 5 days before the stage - so today.I would assume that's to motor traffic, so if you haven't got your camper van up there now you might struggle.Maybe he's riding up?I'll be looking out for a Rams flag - hope he's got one. Dordogne_Ram
Especially as Tinkoff was sounding off about how he would liked to have reduced his salary earlier in the season because he was achieving nothing."Sagan is reputed to be on 2.5million euros pa, Cav "only" on c 1.3 million....... Sagan will get his rewards through the Green Jersey provided he finishes in Paris : improve his personality a bit and he could no doubt earn much more.At first view of his accident yesterday, I feared for Geraint Thomas's future, never mind his career. That he finished with only 40 seconds of deficit was scarcely believable after such an horrendous incident.Suspect that Orange will arrange to re-site a certain telegraph pole in the very near future..... You've hit the nail on the head there. I can't stand the bloke.Re Geraint Thomas. Nothing short of a miracle. It looks worse on each successive viewing. Was the collision an accident? Barguil is only 5 places behind Thomas. I love a good conspiricy, me.
Dordogne_Ram
I would like to think it was down to poor judgement and taking un-necessary risks - not the first time this tour he has been found wanting in this respect. But then again.........! davenportram
do the idiots booing Froome - presumably because he is cheating - and cheering the guy pulling away from him realise that if Froome is cheating because of how he rides the so must the guy in front of him

Dordogne_Ram
Superb performance over the last 3 weeks from Chris Froome and the whole Sky team. Since entering the Pyrenees, the weather has been unrelentingly hot, often humid and in the peloton there is little opportunity for respite in the shade.CF was due an indifferent day, but thankfully his team mates were able to guide him through it : Richie Porte's contribution today was absolutely pivotal to retaining the Yellow Jersey, with the added bonus of enabling him to also take the Polka Dot Jersey of the King of the Mountains, last achieved by Eddy Merckx in the 1970s.Fingers crossed that there are no problems going into Paris, particularly as they have up the laps of the Champs Elysees this year to 10. I just hope that in view of the treatment which Sky have received this Tour, that certain of the other teams do not ignore convention and gang up against them in view of the slender margin of Froome's lead and the obvious tiredness of several members of he team.... Phoenix
Nice bit of Karma today for Nibali, pucturing at a critical moment.Much as I dislike Peter Sagan, it seems wrong that Le Tour will only ever be won by a pure specialist climber in its present format. The likes of Sagan, Greipel, Delenkolb et al are never going to stand a chance. The organisers are gradually reducing the number of potential mass sprint finishes in favour of more mountain top finishes because 'it's what people want to see'. CWC1983
Im glad they seem to have dropped the individial time trials as well. The racing was a bit boring and predictable in the days prior to the final time trials as the main contenders saved themselves.Id agree and say this years tour has been favoured too much towards the climbers, but i guess its at the discretion of the organisers.Ritchie Porte will have done his contract negotiations a power of good and will surely get a team lead position. Froome has been brilliant but Thomas looks to be the long term future of uk cycling along with the Yates brothers. I think i read Sky were pulling out in a couple of years. Kamikaze
See I loved the Time trials it's my favourite part of cycling nowhere to hide, beasts like Cancellara + Martin smashing it, everything tailored to maximise efficiency...qualityJust you against the clock I think I can relate to that more than skipping on the pedals up the Alps
Gypsy Ram
Call me a dick, but inspired by team sky, I went out and bought a bianchi 130 year Ltd edition bike and did my first 60 k. Time for a beer.

I think i just prefer the team tactics and inter team politics that the mountain stages throw up.
Kamikaze
Fair enough, can't really argue with the awesomeness of Alpe D'Huez since my favourite stage ever was Iban Mayo's win their in 03. As for the karma to Nibali aspect that left a little sour taste in the mouth, it was fine for team sky etc to capitalise on crashes splitting the bunch / wind echelons /Cobbles etc in week one but mechanicals are a no go?
