Sexydadbod
He was the only one who was pressing yesterday. Martin struggles at home because there is no space so suits away games. Russell's pace would open the game up Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/17084-should-russell-be-given-a-chance-as-our-striker/ Share on other sites
Sexydadbod
Plus he was a brilliant striker for dundee Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/17084-should-russell-be-given-a-chance-as-our-striker/#findComment-720748 Share on other sites
Ilsonram12
Russell needs a good run of games to find form and consistency, then we will see the best of him, no good for any player to be in and out Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/17084-should-russell-be-given-a-chance-as-our-striker/#findComment-720755 Share on other sites
Sexydadbod
We play him as a rw or lw. He needs to play down the middle Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/17084-should-russell-be-given-a-chance-as-our-striker/#findComment-720756 Share on other sites
IlsonDerby
We play him as a rw or lw. He needs to play down the middle he played in the same position for Dundee as he does for us... Just had sub par defences to play against Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/17084-should-russell-be-given-a-chance-as-our-striker/#findComment-720784 Share on other sites

Shuff264
Martins job is to hold the ball up, be strong, be physical and enable the rest of the team. This is something that JR has no chance of doing, when he was striker the thrived off balls in behind for him to run onto and out pace defenders. Sure we could try it, but we'd have to change the way we play and completely shift out focal point. AmericanRam
Bananas....Martin is our best threat to score right now and even though he did not score yesterday,he did other good things;not his fault delivery to him was basically horse ****. YorkshireRam
He has one quiet game and suddenly we need to drop Martin. Jesus Christ you people are fickle. What Martin did do, he did exceptionally so how people can call for him to be dropped is beyond me. Russell works well as a winger, his pace allows him to either cut inside or hit the byline and whip a cross in. Russell got another assist yesterday, his 7th? so far this season. His assists have created some important goals. He's more useful on the wing than he would be up-front. CumbrianRam
Russell is not good enough technically to play up top in our system. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/17084-should-russell-be-given-a-chance-as-our-striker/#findComment-720802 Share on other sites

Sexydadbod
Lets be honest martin is a fantastic player but his style doesnt suit playing against teams who high press or play reallly deep. Or russell could play as an inside right forward which means that he is closer to martin Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/17084-should-russell-be-given-a-chance-as-our-striker/#findComment-720817 Share on other sites

SSC
You can't drop a striker who has scored as many goals as Martin. I like Russell and think he should have a run in the team, but not as a striker. He could not play the role which our team is set up for the striker to play. The 4-4-2 is old fashioned and we shouldn't be looking to go backwards in my opinion. It requires the rm and lm to work very hard though Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/17084-should-russell-be-given-a-chance-as-our-striker/#findComment-720851 Share on other sites
