Despite Not Signing Thorne Yet The Transfer Window Has Been Busy

Notwithstanding trying to sign Thorne we have had a relatively busy transfer window. Even if some of the signings aren't significant first teamers.

Jonathan Mitchell

Alban Bunjaku

Andre Santos

Lee Naylor

Zak Whitbread

Cyrus Christie

Apart from the two old timers, and particularly with Santos and Bunjaku we have some promising young players this transfer window.

As you say they aren't significant first team players(Mitchell, Bunjaku, Santos, Naylor) , won't be happy until we have a stellar signing like Thorne and another right back.

Now should be the time to spend a bit really, a few key buys/loans and we stand a good chance of

going up!!

Hate the loan system we dont have much sucess sure, people point out out wisdom thorne osman however 3 out of???? isnt good success rate.

Agree on how ***** some of our loans have been. But that's not the fault of the loan system. From Nicky Hunt to Sunu we've had some donkeys. But there's lots of cases of great loans.

You get players you can't really dream of buying. Sometimes they might stick around too if you're lucky.

It's when lads have gone to big clubs and see being loaned out as step down rather than a chance to step up. Like the Chelsea lad that was on loan at Forest and Boro. Clearly talented but he obviously thinks he's done his lower league service and earned his move to Chelsea. Certainly didn't embrace his time at Forest.

Compared to Wisdom who got really into what we were about and really seemed to focus on us.

I'd say 3 out of the 3 we've had under current management have been pretty spectacular

Do you count Dawkins?

Dawkins, Wisdom, Thorne and that prancing Chelsea tosspot Bamford?

Yup, all played their part. These are the loans we want. Highly rated kids and/or players left out of the very best teams squads.

Not Michael Tonge.

Ah! Just remembered Michael Keane. Didn't like him. Not that good and couldn't be arsed to fight for his place.

Were Keane and Smith in pre-mclaren? Not using them to Clough-bash, just wondering.

Your point still stands, Keane comes from Man Utd, and all of our 'decent' loans came from the best squads...

Smith was.

Now that you mention it Keane was set up under Nigel and completed under McClaren I think. He's probably a good player but when he didn't hit the ground running and lost his place he went toddling off looking for guaranteed first team football. As if such a thing exists. Has to be earned fella!!

Bunjaku has a squad number. 22 I think
