DCFC1388
Is that three Christie's that will have played for Derby now? Can anyone come up with a more featured surname in recent times? (Trevor, Malcolm, Cyrus) Article from 2008 so not that upto date... http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Darren-seventh-Powell-join-Rams-ranks/story-11589940-detail/story.html
ramafan
Can't make a judgement on the signing because I haven't seen the lad, so let's wait and see.

maydrakin
Powell-Darren, Darryl, Chris, Steve and Tommy. That's just off the top my head. Barry Powell too. We always sign players who turn out to be crap from Coventry...

Albert
Interesting how our past 2 management regimes have been interested in him. Must have something about him.I'm pretty sure that the club's targets are also not 100% dependent on the management. We'd have known about him after our interest last time and kept scouting, waiting for the chance as we usually do. Think about us chasing Sammon and Martin. inter politics
By the sounds of it, he's better going forward than defending - we'll see what McLaren and Simmo can do with him Would prefer it if he was backup to a more solid right back like Wisdom or Francis, as Gamboa would be a risk himself (if true)
DerbyPride
Bit more of an update from my Cov mate. He's an attacking full back but his crossing is awful. He's also poor defensively too. Says he may have had his head turned last season (wouldn't sign a new contract) which could explain the drop in performances, but he's just not pushed on as expected. We'd have known about him after our interest last time and kept scouting, waiting for the chance as we usually do. Think about us chasing Sammon and Martin. Of course. But there's a difference between just scouting and actually seeing enough to go in for him. Didn't we make a bid under Clough as well?

Didn't we make a bid under Clough as well?We did if I recall. We also bid for Martin and Sammon those times too from what I heard. We seem to be quite happy to play the long game in many cases. ramafan
I would be happy to see this lad as a back up right back and sign Gamboa.
