NewquayRam Posted June 10, 2014 Share Posted June 10, 2014 I remember reading somewhere a while ago that if the number of teams given a bye to the next round (Qualify for Europe) creates an odd number then the highest placed relegated team also gets a bye. NewquayRam Posted June 10, 2014 Share Posted June 10, 2014 Thinking about it more, the teams in Europe get a bye to the 3rd round, the premier league teams get a bye to the 2nd round, it needs to have an even number come the 3rd round, presumably that wouldn't have been the case, so Norwich and Fulham have been given the bye to ensure there is the right number of teams at that stage.
