The pair actually worked together at Queens Park Rangers when Warnock completed the loan-signing of Puncheon in September 2011, saying at the time: “It just made sense to give him an opportunity to come in until January and see what he can do.” “Jason is a good acquisition because he brings pace and plenty of desire. To be perfectly honest he was so keen to come to QPR I think he would have paid us.” After Mousa Dembele brought down Palace striker Marouane Chamakh in the penalty area, Puncheon stepped-up to take the spot-kick – only to carelessly blaze the ball over the bar in one of the worst penalty attempts seen in recent memory. And after Warnock publicly criticised Puncheon’s attempt on talkSPORT on Monday morning, Puncheon has hit back in a series of posts on his official Twitter page, which he later deleted. Puncheon is currently on-loan from Premier League rivals Southampton, with his only goal this season coming from the penalty spot during the 1-1 draw with Norwich on New Year’s Day."
