• Nigel has a list of players (he eluded Billy Sharp isn't on it)
• Says that keeping our players is just as important
• Says not managing to sell any of the players would impact budget, but did say they never expected to manage to sell every single one of them - not that it would be a problem to shift them.
• Lack of knowing which league teams are in and managerial upheaval everywhere has slowed everything - we have done well to sign 2 so quickly
• No Friday night games
• Backing the demand based pricing
• Backing the shift to our fans behind the goal

I was underwhelmed

I was fascinated by what he said about Baptiste.He was asking far too much money for our budget and SR said he knew his agent very well.Now if he knew the agent so well,one might have thought he could just have had an inkling of the kind of money Baptiste would be looking for a few weeks ago.Thinking of the Burke situation,we should surely have anticipated that Brum would take up the option on such a valuable player.A lot took these names being bandied around as intent,but was it really? I'm always a bit suspicious when the club names targets-we've had it before with Hooper and that Dutch lad.

 

Still,we'll eventually find out what the real intent is.

That depends, so far Rush has been quite reticent in coming out and promising anything so he can't be accused of failing to deliver on his promises whilst Glick made crass promises that he did fail against, I don't know which is worse to be honest.

To be fair, he was only saying that many clubs have signed up players already on pre-contracts, and one of ours was pretty much assured, though nice to see the Grant deal organised very quickly atleast.

To be fair he was just creating himself another opportunity to try and say something negative about the club. Did he expect Rush to do an interview and not mention two signings?

I'm sure he was as he has previous for such, but his point was still valid, while two deals are good to already have done, quite a few clubs have already managed this within a week of us completing our two deals (though any situation where you get 2 transfers sorted within a week is a good one).

Everyone know's we've signed Grant and Martin, so why the continuous quotes from Clough and Rush about it?

 

How many players have Portsmouth signed? Serious question.

 

And why isn't he bragging about the guys who have agreed contract extensions (Doyle, Deeney, Davies, Atkins...)? Afteral we've secured those "quality" players for atleast another season haven't we?
