That's silly.

There were no Tyrannosaurs in the Cambrian era - they came along around 430 million years later. Most life was aquatic, with trilobites being the dominant species.

This must be the Shiite Theory of Evolution which for some reason seems to have been over-looked in the history of science.

Animal A evolves in a warm pond and prospers.

Eventually the level of its own shiite in the pond forces the other animals out of the pond and onto the land.

On land these animals continue to defaecate until some are forced to evolve hands with opposable thumbs allowing them to grip the ends of their noses and escape the pong.

Other animals adopt different strategies.

Some animals evolve speed or flight in a bid to escape the stench.

Ruminants develop four stomachs in a desperate attempt to hold back their own shiite.

And Some animals learn to propel their own shiite over large distances, such as mountain gorillas and giles brandreth.

Eventually the whole eco-system settles into a period of mutual shiite acceptance wherein no individual is especially dominant.

Somewhat akin to todays football league.
