A FOOTIE fan's ten-year addiction to computer game Football Manager has landed him a real job — coaching a top team in Azerbaijan.

Vugar Guloglan oglu Huseynzade, 21, has been handed the reins at two-times league champions Baku FC after wowing club bosses with his skills on the simulator - despite the fact he's never managed a team before, or even played professionally.

The whizz kid had been an advisor at the club since February and applied for the top job after Baku's board sacked manager Bozdar Bandovic last week.

Vugar saw off competition from experienced coaches and ex-pros including former France striker Jean-Pierre Papin.

Now he is in the hotseat, the novice has a tough task restoring Baku to their former glory.

The team is currently languishing in the bottom half of the Azerbaijani Premier League after a poor start to the season.

But Vugar is convinced he is up to the task and plans to have the side competing with Europe's elite in the Europa League within three years.

Talking up his credentials, the newcomer said: "I've always wanted to work in football and have played Football Manager since 2002."

That is bullshi......

Oh, sorry. it's in The Sun so must be completely true and the facts haven't been manipulated in any way 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

To be fair, this has been widely reported, and it's one of Azerbaijan's bigger clubs so shouldn't be too hard to verify.

But I CBA to look.

And I don't want to defend the Sun.

Boooooooooo Murdoch.

He got a coaching role based purely on football manager, then they lost their reserve team manager and he got that job...

So in the first instance, they might of offered him a temp role or something because of his bold attempt to get in - and since then impressed.

He hasn't just walked into a first team position, based on no physical evidence!
