Errr hey?!

Savage was offered 12 month extension - but the condition was to take a 8k paycut, in which He accepted.

His new wage was 15k, but He said countless times He would have signed for just 2k a week.

Therefore why did we pay him so much? If He would have paid for so little?

Why is it so difficult to understand?

I'm afraid you need to re-read my post. Savage deferred around a third of his wages till the following season. We used that deferred money and added some to it, to give him an extension. We did not pay him £23k then £15k.

How do you know this, seriously? Are you his PR?

I'll stick to what Savage has said himself.

Either way, He shouldn't have been given an extension.

End of discussion about that long haired git.

It was widely reported at the time ie DET, RD. He says in his book, he'd play another season for a few grand a week. He did.

My last post in this thread (and can I suggest that everyone else does the same and we just let it die? 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />). In simple bullet points:

Savage was guaranteed £23k in year one, and wanted £3k in year two (average £13k a week).

We offered £15k a week in both years.

So we ended up paying £2k more a week than he wanted.

But that was fair enough IMO as he was taking a short term reduction and allowing us to reinvest his wages earlier.

The End (hopefully 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> ).

I believe it was a free transfer because I think he was out of contract, we did however played them in a friendly during the season with a "strong team"

My nieces husband is a season ticket holder at Ilkeston , now and the old team, he told me at the time we paid them 50k, and I believe him.
