If the wage bill is that tight and we have to balance the books; why did Clough decide on giving a 34 year old Robbie Savage another year - on 15,000 a week? That is close to 800,000 we spent on Savage in that single year, which could or rather [size=6]should [/size]have been spent elsewhere. Savage had 1 year on a £25k contract left, he halved it ( with a little bit extra) and spread his wage over 2 years. This was done for the good of the club finances at the time. He scored a hat-trick in a U20 World Cup final, has been capped for the Brazillian senior side, and has stood out as Internacional's best player, absolute steal for £25m and its a shame we missed out. I jest, but I could swear that there is this warped thinking that we'd rather have foreign wonderkids in our Academy than local ones. He did deliver yesterday. Many of us are still willing to give Clough time, Smiffy and gcdcfc28 think it's time for change, that their opinion and we have to respect that.
