  1. In this month’s edition of When Saturday Comes, there’s a team photo of a third division title winning Preston North End from 70/71. With who looks like to my eyes a young Arthur Cox (in black on the left).

The hairline and eyebrows are unmistakeable.

But I can’t find any reference of him at Preston on Wiki or elsewhere. Can anybody shed any light and confirm that my eyes aren’t deceiving me?!

That end of season finishes aren't as easy as it seems, it is easy to screw up entirely like we did that season against Reading.

And wish you hadn’t reminded me of that Reading game. 😂 Horrible performance 😭😫

Agree it’s easy to screw up a few games when the pressure is on, but a 19 point lead is a bit different surely?

    To quote the article:

‘If Burton had not gone up today, it would have been regarded as one of the biggest chokes in the history of football, given that just two months ago, they led the league by 19 points. No team in history has ever blown such a huge advantage before’

It includes a promotion and it wasn't that bad here. As for 'impact' on the side, well we managed to throw away a Play off spot after looking so good! Your memory isn't as good as you'd like.

Yes they were promoted but only thanks to others on the last day after losing a 19 point advantage. They didn’t win many points when he (you?) were in charge, so not sure what your argument is?

I didn’t mention anything about a play off spot in my post so not sure why you’re questioning my memory either?

Really? As is often seen the run-in to the end of a season doesn't always go smoothly! For me he managed to get them over the line after being ditched by Clough Jnr.

Yes really. Just had to google it to see if my memory was correct. But Burton were 19 points clear when clough ditched them (to join our club in disarray!). Sure Clough’s departure would’ve have an impact but hardly a glowing endorsement of Roy’s manager skills. They only went up courtesy of Cambridge not winning their last game. Burton lost to Torquay.

Not questioning his place as a legend but his management record wasn’t great.

Roy Mcfarland, loved the guy as a player, however he was a poor manager with Derby, Cambridge and Chesterfield, it was a pleasure to watch him in the glory days of our club.

And Burton, very nearly undid Nigel’s good work in the season they got promoted to the football league.

Some of this is down to luck, the odd gem that goes for £30m could come through at, literally, any academy. Just as our academy should have been really coming to frution, the club started going in to meltdown (less due to luck that bit.

Anyway, best of luck to Derren Walsall, he's been a great servant.

Do you think he guessed what was coming?

If you count all the minutes we waste in our lifetime sat on the toilet, I will not be wasting anymore stood there washing the pots when we have machines that can do it for us.

I don't even waste a second on turning my lights on in this house!

    Sorry @David I couldn’t resist.

Wouldn’t be without my dishwasher either (insert wife joke here).

I sadly have no advice on how to fix it.

    I have a kitchen.

I have a built in dishwasher in that kitchen.

The kitchen cupboard door that the dishwasher door screws into has come off.

The holes are damaged, not a simple case of just screwing back in as it won’t hold.

No way of repositioning the screw holes in the dishwasher door either.

Mrs reckons just wood fill it no screw back in, my argument is that won’t hold and just crumble away.

Apart from buying a new kitchen, what can I do?

    Use the sink
