Since watching Derby from 1979, best managers. 
Arthur Cox, loved this man, for giving me something to cheer and getting Derby back in the big time, and signing players like Shilton, Wright, Saunders Goddard, Micklewhite, G Williams, Goddard and the Tin Man, great great days. 
Jim Smith, some excellent football, also great signings like Stimac, Biano, Eranio, West, Wanchope, Poom, Daily and Van Der Laan. 
Nigel Clough for getting us competitive again and signing some great players for Mac to work with, and spending very little cash on players like Barks, Martin, Russell, Keogh, Bryson and Hulse. 
Warne for getting us back in the championship after nearly going out of business 2 seasons before. 

Those gloves come with carbon fibre inserts in the knuckles as well!

Spot on Alf. There was zero commitment to a 3 year plan that I recall, quite the opposite in fact and quite how folk have used this to arrive at the belief that we'll be signing big names and looking to challenge from year one is beyond me.
Yet again, fans are setting themselves up and more critically, Warne and the players too, for another hard fall and a long season of discontent  and all over a comment he never even made. 

Not far off my 3 I think - I remember seeing an early Mark Wright game and being blown away, turned up on the left wing to put a great cross in, a player 30 years ahead of his time .....
