  1. All political parties have their grubby paw prints all over this, A report today saying even the Arch Bishop wanted Vennalls to get her CBE...My God 😁
  2. He was born in 2004 so wouldn't know what happened in 2002...Simon De Turd πŸ‘
  3. This is the point, Some fans see the negative while others see the positive, Scapegoating is fare game for those who see the game differently to others...Unfortunately this is league1...not the top end of the EPL, Until we can splurge/spunk millions of Β£s on players then it's the Elders of this world who were our targets last summer. It's those who pull on a shirt and do nowt but collect their wages at the end of the month...Thankfully we have none of those πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  4. And there we have it 😑 https://news.sky.com/story/post-office-scandal-fujitsu-admits-it-was-involved-from-the-very-start-and-helped-prosecute-sub-postmasters-13048987
  5. Elder has been out for some time, Patrice(Burton)made it hard for him, Their 2nd wasn't solely down to him...imo, He's left on his own while every one in chasing the 3rd goal, A cracking through ball a slight slip and the lads through on goal. Just like JJ...Elder has to build up match fitness...It'll come with game time, But when Forsyth gets fit he's our number 3 πŸ‘
  6. When the ball was delivered into the box Burton got bodies in the way of the rub of the ball didn't fall our way, In games like these where again the lions possession is ours it's important to not lose your head and carry on what you've been doing, The football wasn't pretty after Burton got their 2nd for some 10-15 mins but a bit of thought and a little bit of luck Hourihane's goal got us there, That ball was spinning like a top and to control and hit it as he did got a yell out of me πŸ˜‰
  7. 1st off I don't think the ref was as bad as some thought, He let play go on where in the EPL you'd get a free kicks nothing major in his handling of the game. As for the game...at 2-0 game done and dusted I got the impression the players also thought that, But another challenge went unpunished and they score, A breakaway and a slip put Hugil in and it's now 2-2, One of the best defences against one of the worst attacks...this is the DCFC we have got to know. NML could have scored in the 1st half when shooting...rebound to Barks who misses, Collins miss cues at 2-2 when on another day it gets smashed into the net, At 3-2 NML clean through and miss controls the ball, So on another day 4 or 5 goals and we're storming the league, It was a little messy at 2-2 not awful messy...we never rushed or panicked just that the ball wouldn't fall for us. We won, We got the 3 points we move onto Lincoln, No histrionics from me...only we have to show more composure when defending. I'll sleep well...goodnight and sleep tight all πŸ‘
  8. Will the last man switch the lights off when jumping the good ship Nottingham 😁
  9. Nottingham burned while Marinakis fiddled πŸ‘
  10. A couple of things, I wasn't at the Chesterfield game...that was Mucker, Around 10/12 went to Barnet from the Chelsea game being postponed. Here you go...you might see yourself
  11. It's this that wound us up uttox...including those that wouldn't upset a Goose(Boo)I guess in some ways we had to accept this kind of treatment, But if you cage people then don't expect angels to leave the ground, We too had a pop at those who were doing the monkey impressions, You remembered their faces and looked for them after the game...no fences protecting them then, Unfortunately in the dark they all looked the sameπŸ˜‰
  12. The cheeky Chesterfield lads named their "firm" the CLF Chesterfield Lunatic Fringe, Now I wonder where they got that idea from πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ This is a tale from one who was there...not me, A Derby group headed for Chelsea...game postponed so they headed for Barnet Vs Ilkeston, Unfortunately the day was over before it started, Some Derby lads decided to have a go at some Barnet fans, Unfortunately either close by or with the fans were some professional wrestlers...Barnet 1 Derby 0 😁
  13. I've been on the lash all day in Belper so bear with...not a punch or a kick thrown πŸ˜‰ Were there innocents hurt...yes there was, Far too many that weren't reported as it was a common occurrence, Heysel, Hillsboro, Bradford saw some horrendous deaths due to Fans, Police and old stadia...who's to blame? Danny Dyer oh please...a manufactured programme to put him in the limelight of being a "hard case" there were a good few from the Neptune who didn't want the DLF on his programme but some of the more high profile DLF crowd won the day...it was embarrassing...imo. Books were written of embellished journeys through the lives of "football hooligans" the Brimsons from Watford were the 1st to put pen to paper, They looked the part but as they say "the pen is mightier than the sword" both a pair of fantasists. Life is not worth losing for a game of football...it's mind boggling that this could happen, But lives are lost every weekend in towns up and down the Country...age teaches you one thing...to learn and listen to others, What happened 30-40-50 years ago through football was something we did as others did, Nothing to be proud or ashamed of it was a life that some chose to follow. I'll end with this...I loved the 70s-80s made so many friends that you could re float the Titanic with them all, Today...I'm just an old fella that's still has his memories...and I'll share them with anyone who would like to hear them. Enjoy your weekend of what's left...I will ☺️
  14. No bravado or handbags fella, This was life for some, Have you ever walked down a street when going to a football match and been thumped by an away fan, Or maybe grabbed by the throat by our police forces for walking in a group of fans, Kettled in train stations, Put on trains not fit for cattle, Put in a cage(Southampton)yes a cage where even the top was fenced, And you wonder why some(including myself)railed against society, 10s of 1000s were at it all over the Country it's how it was for some, But one thing I'll add, If you were sitting with your partner in a pub and you were being bullied for wearing your colours by the home fans and our kind walked in...you'd stop sh!tting your pants.
  15. Ian Hislop at his best...incase you missed it
  16. There needs to be a warning with every pair sold. *Please remove before going swimming*
  17. the CBT thread is that way
  18. To be fare to the Bushwackers anything outside the boundaries of London was North...and that includes the South coast 😁
  19. Ivy Square to the ground...at night time was fun, A Saturday afternoon walking back to town and many a home owner stood at their front door with a piece of 4x2, A cricket bat, Pick axe handle or the wife in curlers and an apron 😁 We had the time of our lives...now it's shopping at Asda fighting for deals in the whoops isle
  20. Yep the 70s were "Madder than Jack Mad McMad" No knives(unless you were a "Bin Dipper" Scouser...just Head, Fists, Feet and Teeth with the odd Elbow and knee thrown in and that was just the police 😁 Your Dad knows what's what, If there was no football then you fought those from Spondon, Alvaston, Allenton and Mackworth...I was from Chadd a more salubrious area of Derby ☺️
  21. You'll soon find out why...oil prices are going up which = petrol prices, The Houthis who are backed by Iran are attacking ships in the Straights of Hormuz, Iran boarding foreign owned ships. https://news.sky.com/story/middle-east-crisis-explosions-heard-in-sanaa-as-strikes-launched-against-houthis-linked-targets-13045848
  22. The 70s was a mad decade, 3/4 day week, Red Robbo at British Leyland, Robert Relf advertising his house for sale...to a white family only😬 , Strikes left right and centre, A Saturday afternoon was a relief to get away from an ordinary life, As you say most lads were fare game...there were in our case...boundaries, Only those that wanted it got it, I got a few clumps on the way, But all good fun 😁, The Police were the hardest firm, Horses, Truncheons and those size 15 boots 😁They were just as game as we were, Only they never got arrested πŸ™„, Having your laces taken out of your Doc Martens was a pain, But we weren't completely thick...always kept a spare pair 😁 The worse beating I had was at Luton, I got caught in a shop doorway, Curled up in the foetal position and hope they would move on...they did thankfully, Back on the train and the war stories began, I ached for a few days after but the next Saturday couldn't come quick enough. Leeds were always well supported a shed load of them came down on a Friday Night took over the town centre...little battles all over the place, Millwall were very handy at there's but sometimes chose not to travel so always ended up fighting with themselves...video below 😁 https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=derby+county+Vs+millwall+play+offs&mid=49C880D2AB33D6E46A2449C880D2AB33D6E46A24&FORM=VIRE Stokes Victoria Ground was a nasty place to go, You had to be a Doctor Who character...have eyes in the back of your head, The Cemetery if caught there was the right place to be...plenty of graves to rest your soul πŸ˜” We weren't the Politicians favourites but then again they weren't ours 😁
