  1. Reckon we could bring in a decent defender for £1m. Obviously I’d be wanting £4.5m minimum for Cash. Just think this season is there for the taking rather than selling Cash in the summer and having to start again.
  2. I think the only way signing Gregory is acceptable is if it allows us to sign a midfielder as well. Or if it’s Gregory or nobody. We should’ve sold Cashin and invested properly.
  3. Sat playing fifa I reckon. Any of us could have suggested Lee Gregory if we’re desperate. Genuinely not had a decent January since we signed Ince and Lingard.
  4. He was solid two years ago. But personally and I might only be speaking for myself here, I was hoping for an upgrade on Collins not a back up.
  5. After Lee Gregory, Jesus wept. Pathetic.
  6. Peterborough signing a Brentford winger on loan so they’ve strengthened.
  7. Rather us sign Robson and Jerome.
  8. Obviously. But from an excitement point of view the anticipation of a signing adds to the drama.
  9. Listening to PW it sounds like we have enough in the pot for one more. Of what standard god knows. In our defence Brighton are sitting on a pile of riches so for them to haggle over £4m until 5 hours before deadline was poor form. Not sure why we’ve been so adamant he’s not for sale this month though.
  10. Bit of both. Love a dirty transfer rumour, something mad Mel excelled at. All this hush hush is boring. But will concede nobody can moan about our dealings until the window is shut.
  11. Bolton close to bringing in a 2nd and 3rd signing. Portsmouth have 2 in the bank and are linked with another 2. Posh nobody but keeping their players is as good as signing somebody. All eyes on us. Currently linked with nobody.
  12. Truly do believe we’ll get at least 1 more through the door. How good they’ll be is anyone’s guess. Personally I’d like 2 decent signings but we don’t want to stretch the recruitment teams capacity.
  13. Would be surprised to see Fornah go especially over Smith. Ward can go for me, not been impressed and you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but I don’t look at him and think top man. Happy to see whoever leave if it means we can strengthen before deadline day closes.
  14. 1. Steve Mac 2. Lampard 3. Burley 4. Billy 5. Rowett 6. Clough 7. Rooney 8. Warne 9. Rosenior 10. Cocu 11. Clement 12. Pearson
  15. Quite concerning how many fans are moaning despite 3 points. Can totally understand why though. If we don’t pick up performances then top 2 won’t happen and then as we know play offs are a lottery. Who’d of thought missing a right back that offers nothing going forward would cause us so much grief. Hoping we can shift 1 on and bring in 2 before deadline day closes.
  16. I still think Bradley was brought in to captain, then PW clearly saw enough in pre season to think that maybe that wasn't the greatest of ideas so chickened out and let the players decide. Admittedly there isn't an abundance of leaders; maybe Fozzy could've done the job?
  17. At the time of signing he was seen as a coup and maybe he wouldn't look as awkward in LR slow possession game. Harsh to compare him to Rooney as he came back like Billy Bunter post lockdown. But agree its similar in the sense that maybe his status stops him being dropped. Especially when we don't have a natural replacement within in the squad.
  18. Clearly must be a strong character in the dressing room. I do feel like if he's on big wages that he might be hard to move on and if he gets dropped then that could mess with the dynamic so PW has my sympathies in that regard. I think he can do a job for us, but just not in a 2 with a midfielder whose tidy but doesn't offer more than 6/10 most weeks.
  19. Hourihane is an enigma. IMO he was underwhelming last season but he got in the team of the year and his goals/assists tally was healthy for a centre mid. I'm also a big fan of players having a strong attacking threat to their game, so he ticks that box. Ultimately I think we need to bring another midfielder in. To either play in a 3 with Bird and CH or at the very least support one of them if PW insists on playing a 2. But it does seem according to PW comments that this won't be addressed until the summer. So let the chaos continue.
  20. As soon as Warne was appointed there seemed to be one too many fans upset with the decision. Maybe out of love for LR who does appear to charm everyone he meets and the fact he stuck with us during the bad times. Plus Warne from Rotherham is not really sexy. Personally I thought it was a good appointment and despite the issues last season I was still hopeful this season. I wasn’t impressed with our summer recruitment in the forward areas and after Stevenage I wanted him gone. Since then to his credit he’s turned us around and got us in a fair position. I guess the problem is A) we capitulated last season with him at the helm so what’s stopping that happening again? B) The football is pretty boring. Which credit to Derby fans they shunned Rowett for the same thing. I don’t think Warne’s a bad manager and he’s clearly a nice guy. But whether he’s the right man for us remains to be seen. I think if he does manage to stumble us up to the championship he’ll be out of a job by Christmas. Personally if we don’t go up this year I’d want him gone and give somebody else a chance. To answer your question he deserves criticism when the players drop stinkers like last night. But should he be demeaned to a PE teacher etc? No.
  21. Problem is we haven’t got enough players who can pull a rabbit out of the hat when the chips are down. Hopefully CBT will add a bit of sparkle. But who do we bring in from the bench to strengthen us? Sibley’s had more chances than hot dinners, we’ve got no strikers and Fornah looks average league 1 at best. Last night was pretty embarrassing. How can we not muster one good chance in 90 minutes against Reading?
  22. Sad state of affairs but we have very few assets. Cashin and Bird are the only players that could command a 7 figure fee. The rest are either too old, too poor or expiring in the summer. Sounds like we might a forward in before deadline day but looking at last night’s performance will that be enough?
  23. The midfield has been an issue since last season. But then we go on a run and all is forgiven. But once the run stops it looks painful again. If we do end up in league 1 next season I’m actually looking forward to no Hourihane or Bird.
  24. No I mean the players don’t seem to have gone back to basics and instead are playing so naively it’s unreal.
