  1. Wouldn’t really like to say without watching him again. But I’m not a big fan of any of our centre mids so to play the law of averages I’d say yes.
  2. Watched 30 mins of the second half and Dobson knows how to hit a 30 yard pass over the top. Can’t say he looked too menacing as a goal threat though. But wouldn’t sniff at him.
  3. Yep would be sickening, worse than Barnsley taking it easy against posh last season. Although that doesn’t excuse the ref sending curt off.
  4. Peterborough play Bolton last match of the season. Hopefully we’re up by then.
  5. Watched most of the second half of Charlton v posh and Charlton should really have got a second. Annoyingly posh hang on and continue their charge.
  6. Missed a penalty at 2-0 too. Not looking good for them at the moment. Shame posh are winning.
  7. Think you’ve covered it pretty well. But I think it was after the Stevenage game Derby Telegraph said Warne would have funds in Jan. I’m assuming they’ve written that on good authority. I’m also assuming by funds they don’t mean that few that we’d have to settle for a Harvey White type signing. We won’t know the answer until Feb 1st but it suggests to me we should be able to make one good signing (at least on loan) before the window closes. Personally I’d have sold Cashin to fund the window but Clowes and Pearce are it differently.
  8. Comparing to last season which is what @Caerphilly Ram has done it’s impossible to disagree. Would I rather watch Didzy than Collins? Yes, would I rather us still have Didzy? Yes. But on output compared to last season we’re doing better.
  9. Of course not and obviously I can only speculate but I’d say Bradley is on x4 what Stearman was so he’s certainly not value for money. But as a general rule the recruitment for the defence has been good, it’s the other end that’s the problem.
  10. Fair enough then, I’ll give you your dos McGoldrick hasn’t proven to be a loss. But I can’t help that think without 2-3 good additions we could end up falling away. Even if we get play offs, if we don’t go up it’s a failure. Like I said, I’m relaxed about our January so far, none of our competitors have set the world alight either. But I just find the unnecessary comments irksome. Ultimately Warne can only spend what he’s got, but unfortunately for him if it goes wrong it’ll be his head on the block not Pearce or Clowes.
  11. I’ve said Im quite relaxed with the lack of signings so far. But to play devils advocate I can see why others get frustrated because he doesn’t help himself.
  12. Then don’t say two are close.
  13. I’d say signing Wash and Wag suggests differently. I’ll concede not having funds makes the pool smaller but sometimes you need to take a gamble on a airhead if they’ll get the job done.
  14. He’s clearly a clever guy and I get the being honest shtick that he does, but when it backfires like it has done about 6 times since he came in it gets a bit tiring. He could just say that conversations have been held but there’s plenty of talks to be had before anything gets signed. If we end up replicating last January, do you think we’ll get promotion this season?
  15. Difference is Fergie, Pep, Rodgers and Ange all have a plethora of players to pick from. If their number 1 target is a bad egg then their number 2/3 target will still be a very good footballer. If we turn down a gun because he’s a bit of an idiot and then sign a nice guy who’s half the player, I’m not sure the fans will be happy. It’s too early to moan about this window. But once again Warne shouldn’t open his mouth until it’s basically a done deal. Saying 2 are close only gets the juices flowing so when it goes belly up people get irritated. That said Clowes backed Warne when the chips were down and has been rewarded. I urge him to back him again and get the 2/3 players we need to have a good go at autos.
  16. Must be because we went in to admin. But agree, i found it odd how many good players were signing for them when they had all this chaos surrounding them.
  17. Haven't they been taken over? For what its worth, I think they'll do well to break in to the top 6 this season. Their fans haven't been that impressed with Appleton so as long as they don't go on a surge, all these signings may set them up better for next season. Fair play to them though.
  18. Has turned it around and shut the moaners like me up, congrats and kudos to Paul. He's got us within touching distance of promotion, similiar to last season, then we fluffed our January and the wheels fell off. Clowes and Pearce need to put their big boy pants on and back Paul this month. Posh, Bolton and Pompey aren't as strong as Ipswich, Plymouth and Weds so a bit of dosh and a few players should do the trick.
  19. Weird one that we have 4 strikers already on the books and most would probably have happily seen Collins leave in the summer if it meant we could bring another in. Now he's our main man (due to his performances and the fact that Waghorn, Wash and TJJ have not set the world alight *shock*). But I do think we need another and IMO there's no snobbery going for a Smith, he's tried and tested and if its only a loan we aren't lumbered with him for next season. Another winger would be nice and in this respect I'd happily see Sibley leave if that frees up funds to bring a new winger in. Ward looks pony but can't see us offloading him until the summer and Waggy can't be relied to be the 4th winger with his injury issues. Whether we'll get CBT or have to dip in to the loan market is a mystery. I also agree a Idiakez type player would complete the set, Hourihane doesn't offer enough IMO. But I can't see us signing 3 so maybe this a pipe dream. Plus as unexcited I am by Hourihane and Bird, they have contributed to us being 4th so they can't be that bad.
  20. Latest press conference was a barrel of laughs. Got no right back for Monday. Arsenal are playing hardball over TJJ despite his contract expiring in the summer. OAP's like Hourihane, Barkhuizen etc could be playing for us for another season. Sound.
  21. Personally if we could get £4.5m for Cashin I’d get him gone (providing we get him back on loan). I know if we get promoted we’ll kick ourselves for not keeping him but if he funds the two/three players to get us over the line then IMO it’s worth it.
  22. Wasn't Fornah a small fee? But yes it'll be disappointing if no obvious sign of funds are shown by the end of the window.
  23. BT reckons Dobra from Chesterfield. Fair play if that comes to light as there's nothing on social media to suggest he's a target.
  24. Quite sad that he’s chosen to go down the Andrew Tate route. Did enjoy him referring to Jeremy Vine as bike nonce though.
  25. I agree it’s way too early this window to be throwing toys out the pram. But I know for a fact if we end up replicating last January I’ll have steam coming out of my ears. Think Warne’s defensive recruitment has been very good. In the forward areas it leaves a lot to be desired and as that’s the area we all want to see strengthened, I can see why some are getting agitated. Also doesn’t help that after the Stevenage match Derby Telegraph ran a story saying funds would be given to Warne in Jan to strengthen. Comments like these only raise expectation. Anyway so far this window Warne is not guilty of any wrongdoing. But let’s hope for everyone’s sake we sign a couple of decent players for the final third by deadline day.
