  1. Quite concerning how many fans are moaning despite 3 points. Can totally understand why though. If we don’t pick up performances then top 2 won’t happen and then as we know play offs are a lottery. Who’d of thought missing a right back that offers nothing going forward would cause us so much grief. Hoping we can shift 1 on and bring in 2 before deadline day closes.
  2. I still think Bradley was brought in to captain, then PW clearly saw enough in pre season to think that maybe that wasn't the greatest of ideas so chickened out and let the players decide. Admittedly there isn't an abundance of leaders; maybe Fozzy could've done the job?
  3. At the time of signing he was seen as a coup and maybe he wouldn't look as awkward in LR slow possession game. Harsh to compare him to Rooney as he came back like Billy Bunter post lockdown. But agree its similar in the sense that maybe his status stops him being dropped. Especially when we don't have a natural replacement within in the squad.
  4. Clearly must be a strong character in the dressing room. I do feel like if he's on big wages that he might be hard to move on and if he gets dropped then that could mess with the dynamic so PW has my sympathies in that regard. I think he can do a job for us, but just not in a 2 with a midfielder whose tidy but doesn't offer more than 6/10 most weeks.
  5. Hourihane is an enigma. IMO he was underwhelming last season but he got in the team of the year and his goals/assists tally was healthy for a centre mid. I'm also a big fan of players having a strong attacking threat to their game, so he ticks that box. Ultimately I think we need to bring another midfielder in. To either play in a 3 with Bird and CH or at the very least support one of them if PW insists on playing a 2. But it does seem according to PW comments that this won't be addressed until the summer. So let the chaos continue.
  6. As soon as Warne was appointed there seemed to be one too many fans upset with the decision. Maybe out of love for LR who does appear to charm everyone he meets and the fact he stuck with us during the bad times. Plus Warne from Rotherham is not really sexy. Personally I thought it was a good appointment and despite the issues last season I was still hopeful this season. I wasn’t impressed with our summer recruitment in the forward areas and after Stevenage I wanted him gone. Since then to his credit he’s turned us around and got us in a fair position. I guess the problem is A) we capitulated last season with him at the helm so what’s stopping that happening again? B) The football is pretty boring. Which credit to Derby fans they shunned Rowett for the same thing. I don’t think Warne’s a bad manager and he’s clearly a nice guy. But whether he’s the right man for us remains to be seen. I think if he does manage to stumble us up to the championship he’ll be out of a job by Christmas. Personally if we don’t go up this year I’d want him gone and give somebody else a chance. To answer your question he deserves criticism when the players drop stinkers like last night. But should he be demeaned to a PE teacher etc? No.
  7. Problem is we haven’t got enough players who can pull a rabbit out of the hat when the chips are down. Hopefully CBT will add a bit of sparkle. But who do we bring in from the bench to strengthen us? Sibley’s had more chances than hot dinners, we’ve got no strikers and Fornah looks average league 1 at best. Last night was pretty embarrassing. How can we not muster one good chance in 90 minutes against Reading?
  8. Sad state of affairs but we have very few assets. Cashin and Bird are the only players that could command a 7 figure fee. The rest are either too old, too poor or expiring in the summer. Sounds like we might a forward in before deadline day but looking at last night’s performance will that be enough?
  9. The midfield has been an issue since last season. But then we go on a run and all is forgiven. But once the run stops it looks painful again. If we do end up in league 1 next season I’m actually looking forward to no Hourihane or Bird.
  10. No I mean the players don’t seem to have gone back to basics and instead are playing so naively it’s unreal.
  11. We need humbling. In matches like this before the run e.g. Port Vale it was a poor match that we nicked because we did the basics right and made sure we wasn’t going to give a goal away. Too many times since the turn of the year we’ve turned up in 2nd gear thinking that we’ll score eventually and either we’ve drawn or lost. Seems like NML has ran out of bunnies from his magicians hat so we’ve gone back to being toothless.
  12. For any football manager players you can loan a player with an option/mandatory buy option. It seems we’ve done this to get around the red tape. Sneaking through EFL loopholes..we’re back and better than ever.
  13. Agreed. But on what planet are we paying a loan fee for a 32 year old when funds are as tight as they are. Fair play if that’s Weds stance. But if it’s a business power play then they’re wasting their time.
  14. I guess come the end of the window we’ll see if they played it well. But on the assumption the player wants to come here and no other teams are interested then it’s pretty daft/spiteful. Anyway I’d move on and see if we can find anybody else.
  15. Knock this one straight on the head. It was the clowns at Wednesday who stopped Johnson joining us on deadline day. Ironically since the manager change he’s been red hot so they got lucky with that. But don’t these fools not realise we don’t have the cash to throw around like previous?
  16. No chance we’re signing 5 in the window. I expect CBT, Smith and one more if we’re lucky.
  17. Lincoln was always going to be tough. Plus whilst they have a reputation of not scoring (which was shown today) they have just signed/recalled 3 strikers so it’s a brand new frontline that will probably cause more problems for teams for the remainder of the season. I do think we should be expecting a win on Tuesday and maybe should be frustrated if we come away with a similar result. Hopefully we get the 2/3 players in to take us up a level. No need to panic or grumble yet IMO.
  18. Surprised CBT hasn’t been announced. I’m sure nothings amiss but the delay is odd.
  19. Oxford, Barnsley and Stevenage not playing today now. This gives me the heebie jeebies for sure. If we win great the pressures on them. But anything other than 3 points and they’ve had a good weekend without lifting a finger.
  20. Fee like this is a bit of a banana skin. In comparison to some of our other fixtures this month anyway.
  21. I don't dislike the guy and he's good enough to be part of a successful league 1 squad and currently with his form arguably deserves to be starting. But if CBT signs and is as good as we hope then I can't see NML being the sacrificial lamb.
  22. Overall play leaves a lot to be desired. Plus when the chips are down i have 0 confidence he'll come up trumps. Ok to have in the squad and he does get on the score sheet but shouldn't be a regular for me.
  23. Barkhuizen hopefully. Obviously if he stinks the joint out and isn't better than Barkz then questions should be asked.
  24. Who'd of thought that a player that claimed that they have a better skillset to hold up a ball over Harry Kane isn't a tactical mastermind.
