  1. Feel free to suggest someone whose been released by the national league.
  2. The players I’ve suggested. If you think they’re not good enough then that’s your opinion. Mine is that they would be good enough.
  3. You questioned my suggestions inferring they wouldn’t fit in to the business plan. I’m suggesting that at least 2 of them probably would. Im not savvy to our budget but if we were in for Smith/Gregory then they aren’t on a pack of fags and a mars bar for a wage.
  4. Yes especially if it means we aren’t wasting NML. Plus it’s not like I’m suggesting some melt from the national league. These are proven professionals at this level.
  5. You saying Gayle/Wickham would want more than what we were willing to pay for Smith/Gregory?
  6. Max Bird’s look pink in his photo.
  7. That’s Gayle then. Been linked with Port Vale.
  8. Don’t get me wrong he’d do a job. But then we’d lose his talent from out wide. Plus if he was that good at playing up top he’d have done it more often in his career. If Collins is out I’m sure we’ll get to see your point in action. Hopefully I’m wrong.
  9. I’m not saying they’re good. But if you would rather a winger have to play out of position for a month then that’s your prerogative. To me that scenario makes me sick.
  10. Maybe and whilst there will be a collective fist pump and buzz if Collins starts he's hardly Haaland. I'm not sure Stevenage will be quaking in their boots at NML or Barkz up top, so i imagine they'll plan for Collo starting until 2pm.
  11. I reckon Gayle and Wickham would definitely sign. Joao and Forestieri maybes and Mousset probably not. But we basically need them to be able to play for a month until Wash is back as minimum.
  12. Nope. Reckon Stevie Wonder must be undertaking the tests.
  13. Gayle, Joao, Forestieri, Mousset, Wickham just as some suggestions.
  14. Been over 24 hours since Owen's tweet. Any danger on revealing the results, or are we going to drag it out all day? I'll only accept the all day option if its good news.
  15. I find it a waste of time. Don’t get me wrong if Derby stumble in to the quarters then I dream of lifting the cup just like the next man. But I find the same 6 winning it season after season boring.
  16. Depends who you hold responsible for January as to whose fault tomorrow is if we lose without a striker on the pitch.
  17. Like I’ve said about 4 comments back. At that stage sign one of the freebies up til the end of the season. Madness we’re relying on Collins not to be out for the season in order to go up.
  18. To be fair people wouldn’t be questioning the signing after a hat trick. Personally I was under whelmed by our forward signings. Maybe we’ve been unlucky to lose three out of four to injury but not addressing the farce of deadline day isn’t looking a smart move.
  19. It’s not even about better in Jan for me. I’d rather prime Theo Robinson up top tomorrow than force one of our wingers too have to do it.
  20. What a ridiculous decision. Not from TNT’s point of view. But I somewhat doubt people are going to subscribe just to watch the FA cup. But a competition that’s already diminished and they’ve gone and done this. Wont affect my life particularly because I hold the cup in contempt but its a shame for the youth of today.
  21. Complete poppycock. Weds made a risky appointment and the players clearly didn’t play for him. For all of Warne’s faults he knows how to cultivate a good dressing room. I imagine we’d be bottom 8, which is to be expected with our financial clout. But even the admin team would’ve stayed up. Plus if things were as bad as you say. We’d just get rid and hopefully the new man would keep us up.
  22. Forget the January window. Personally I think it’s poor that we didn’t recruit within the month but acknowledge we seem to have been unlucky with a last minute change of heart. But why haven’t we looked in to the free transfer market? Don’t give me Wag and Wash coming back, they’re still 2-3 weeks away and hardly top end quality. Not saying Gayle or Joao are the messiahs but rather them up top than having to force NML up there.
  23. What a time for this to happen. Although no sympathy if this is worst case scenario as we knew the risks.
  24. Not listened to it yet so i'm unable to pass comment. But if DC and SP are as besotted with Warne as you allude to then that's concerning. I guess its finding the balance as an owner between knowing what goes on behind close doors and knowing maybe that PW is a good man thats genuinely giving his all. Against if all the fans decided to walk away because of his loyalty to PW (an exaggeration to make a point) there would be no football club. I think even the staunchest of Warne fans would be tested if we failed to go up this season. As I've said in other threads and I'm not a psychic but next seasons LG1 looks disgusting to get out of. Do i think another summer of PW recruitment at this level would see us as an automatic promotion team next season? No
  25. Pure speculation at the moment and for me its too early. Lets face it, even if our form completely nosedived i doubt DC would get rid before the end of the season. If we do go up and its a big if at the moment then it would be incredibly harsh to sack Warne as despite his many flaws he has objectively completed his mission whether its been nice on the eye or not. With PW a nice guy and DC seemingly a nice guy I somewhat doubt we'd be this harsh upon promotion. If we miss out on promotion this season then I think there's need to discuss PW future. Personally i'd like him gone under this proviso but once again DC backed him once before, maybe he'll back him again. Ultimately none of us have a crystal ball and if Iain Dowie can get promoted from the championship as manager then anyone can. Lets worry about the championship if we get there.
