Brazilian outlets are now reporting that it was Neymar that covered the compensation bill, not Alves, so I don't see how that should count in his favour at all.
-
I can't say for sure, but I imagine the fact he's paid compensation may have resulted in a lower sentence. That's something that the Spanish system allows for. But I agree, four and a half years for that sort of crime, especially when he's repeatedly lied about it and shown no remorse, feels too low. At least he's been convicted, though.

Actually comical Can only hope his role ends up just involving him explaining that the decisions were correct and to stop whinging. -
We're already not the team with the worst ever top flight points total in one of the 5 big leagues, Tasmania Berlin only got 8 points in the 1965-66 Bundesliga. Even adjusting to 3 points per win, they would have only had 10 points.

After getting racially abused by some Sheffield Wednesday fans the other week, he's now unbelievably been booed by their fans throughout their game last night: https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/fa-cup-coventry-sheffield-wednesday-31981155 https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/13057327/mark-robins-condemns-kasey-palmer-booing-people-should-be-ashamed-of-themselves

Bit of a bombshell. Has to be said, it's quite nice to see a manager of a larger team leaving because they want to and not because they've been sacked, though. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68104699

Was just thinking, with this FFP charge coming in, you have to question why they decided to spend half of last season without a shirt sponsor because they thought they could somehow get more than was being offered. That must have counted for a few million at least. -
On the other side of things, you have Wolverhampton selling 17 players to meet FFP requirements, also losing their manager in the process: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/01/17/gary-oneil-wolves-drastic-transfer-policy-everton-forest/

I thought their fans already do that.

Check out the name of Mauritania's number 27. Apparently the new name of Aboubakar Kamara who used to play for Fulham. It definitely makes him sound like a bit of a weapon, but probably not in the way he'd hoped.

Just wondering, who did Forest keep out of the playoffs the year they went up? Asking for a certain curly haired frie- er, acquai-... lets call him a "currently tolerated enemy". -
