  1. Hm, Barks scored and also got an assist but apparently he was no good and has been bad for quite a while. From december he's played 90 mins only once (today, his second 90 mins in the league this season), average being less than 60 minutes a game and yet in those last 8 league games he's scored four and assisted three. That's better than NML for example in that same time. I thought he was doing ok though.

Good goal. Well done Collins, deserved his start. But why the hell is sibbo on the left?! Everytime he play’s there he is doesn’t really effect the game. He must be so fustrated at always being played out of position. People complain about sibbo not being consitent, it helps when you play him centrally.

Sibley and NML are switching positions, Sibley's been central more than on the left imo.

I think we will pay loan fees this season and get a better quality of loan player. Keep the faith, we will be challenging for the top 2

Yeah, I think we have so much better balance already than last season that I have no doubt we will do well. If we get another CF and AMC as targeted and maybe a backup LWB I believe we are fine and then we can do fine tuning in January if necessary.

They also had Finn azzaz on a loan fee and Sam cosgrove on a loan fee and the same with Whittaker all of those loan fees probably outweighs our total available budget this season

True, they did really well with loans last season and no doubt there were substantial loan fees involved.

You won't get out of this division, or any division, without some kind of fee on players.  If you don't pay some fee, someone else will. Even the decent team we had under Burley had some nominal fees of 200-300 k for the likes of Peschisolido and Kenna to go with the frees.  Could be a barren season goal wise if our centre forward addition is a freebie, over 30, with a bad knee.

Tell that to Plymouth. They even managed it with a 13 goal striker.

  6. I've cancelled through website@dcfc.co.uk as well, no problems. Funny that they always reply first that I could cancel myself using the Cancel-button found on the subscription page but there's no such button there. I think this was the third year they suggest that. It would make things simpler for sure.

  7. First half wasn't good, for some reason we kept ignoring our midfield and kept looping long balls to our top three. Hourihane was too deep and Knight's passing was pretty bad. NML couldn't get past his man and basically the only bright thing prior to our goal was Dobbin. We were lucky with the goal but Dobbin did really well and the movement McColdrick made in the box was brilliant.

Second half was better, Knight improved though he still kept losing the ball too much. White was better also, he has some bite to him which is good. Dobbin kept going well and NML also improved. Second goal was important and well taken.

Thommo put in the best sub performance and others did their jobs as well. I was hoping to see more from Sibley in his favoured position but he didn't really impress. His better games this season have been at left back imo.

Anyways, as others have said, win is a win and three points, clean sheet, well done.

  8. I find this Hourihane bashing a bit strange. In our last six games he has three assists. Pretty good in my opinion, getting better definately. Compared to Bird he's contributed more in fewer minutes this season in the league so far if we look at both goals and assists. Also a lot of people seem to think that he and Bird doesn't work well together but I would say that in addition of assisting goals (three and two in our last six) they protect the backline well (when was the last time we lost in the league?). Not bad. I can understand why Warne plays them both all the time.

As the season goes I've been more frustrated with Bird, especially earlier in the season. In one of the early Warne games (I forget which one) we were losing and got a throw in. Bird was closest to the ball and started slowly walking towards it. Hourihane ran from further back past Bird, took the throw and play continued while Bird stood there looking suprised and lost. Fortunately he's improved since then.

  9. Well that was more difficult than I thought it would be. But Smith was really good when he came in and Bird maybe needs a rest, sloppy at times and compared to Smith too safety first. Barkz was strong, Hourihane not so. McG hopefully gets fitter and fitter and starts soon in the league. Collins, especially in the first half, was doing all the right moves but he has that Martin'esgue frustration seemingly built in him that I don't like. Fortunately he doesn't chew gum. Sibbo and Dobbin got a whole game, really good and especially Sibbo looked dangerous 1st half. NLM would've been a nice option from the bench but we managed! A good win in the end.
