Michael Cooper has arguably been one of the best keepers in the country this season. To put into context what he’s done this season is incredibly difficult, but during the season where Scott Carson looked like Buffon

He played 46 games, conceded 48 goals. He made 97 saves: 11 in six yard box, 52 within the penalty area and 34 outside the area.

Cooper has played 29 games, conceded 30 goals. He’s made 102 saves: 13 in the six yard box, 62 within the penalty area and 27 outside the area.

This is an absolute hammer blow to Plymouth, who not only lose their best player but probably the most impactful player in the division since they seem to concede so many opportunities within the box. Huge, huge, huge for us. I feel terrible for Cooper though.

    Think those are probably handball.

  2. Win and we're in the knockout stages. Not sure if there's seeding or anything, but suspect we'd also be guaranteed first place?

Means we can rest as many as we want against Man City U21 (as long as we avoid the fine) and give the old boys a night off.

I'd be tempted to give Collins 45 minutes tonight- no sense tiring him out, but another goal on the road would help maintain his confidence.

  3. Follow up question- I'm coming on Saturday with both the kids. We're going to be there *early* (like, maybe around 12ish, and having lunch in town before heading back for the match)- we are driving from Lincolnshire, and driving back there after the match, so an *ideal* spot would have easy access to A52 Eastbound, and not be too far from the ground (the kids are 6 and 8, so.... long walks not ideal).

Worst case scenario I'll probably park at Intu and take on the walk, but no idea what the traffic will be like 25 minutes after full time...

Any better options available to someone arriving that far in advance?

  4. Given I don't live locally, I had hoped to get to a couple of away games this year. Since I only attended 2 home games last year, I suspect getting in the away end for Lincoln and Cambridge may prove a challenge...

  5. As has been made clear previously- interesting few weeks ahead.

    Derby's next 4- Bournemouth (A), Blackburn (A), Coventry (H), Preston (H)

    Readings next 4 - Forest (A), Bournemouth (A), Blackburn (H), Barnsley (A)

Whilst I'm loathe to describe any game as a "free hit", that's kind of where we are with our next 2, as they match up Reading's.

It wouldn't be *shocking* for us to pick up 6, and them to pick up 1.

THEN, they get their game in hand (Stoke(H)) - how much would it weigh on them if they'd gone 22nd at that point?

Then it's the run to the end of the season.

    Derby's last 6 - Swansea (A), Fulham (H), QPR (A), Bristol C (H), Blackpool (A), Cardiff (H)

    Readings last 6 - Cardiff (H), Sheff Utd (A), Swansea (H), Hull (A), WBA (H), Luton (A).

I can see them getting some points from Cardiff and Swansea, so we'd need to try and keep in touch, but if we're within 3 points with 3 games to go.... I put the ball in our court.

Gonna bring my 5 year old to his first game for Bristol City.
