  1. It's hard to know what to expect in the race - first few laps should be vaguely interesting due to the 'out of position' cars on the grid but I'm hating the ridiculously long straights which will should let the faster cars through with ease once DRS is enabled. Start may be interesting if Max tries to put Leclerc in the wall (seems to be his standard approach if he feels threatened by the speed of one of the cars off the grid) - though given the season Charlie's been having, I wouldn't blame him for taking Max out if he tries anything too outrageous....the authorities certainly seem to be scared of punishing Max when he's clearly trying to intimidate other drivers....
  2. Understand Everton are appealing the deduction, but it looks like a slam-dunk with little to argue other than they've been penalised while Man City & Chelsea have not... To be honest, they're in form at the moment and there are some pretty dreadful teams in the bottom half of the PL so getting a deduction this season may not be as catastrophic as it may have been in another season...I can see them escaping relegation fairlt comfortably.

    Nigel Clough

Just confirms to me that he's (still) a miserable bugger......
  4. You couldn't make up the farce that F1 is nowadays - Sainz hits a broken manhole cover (clearly not his fault) and therefore has to repair various bits of his powertrain and is given a 10 place grid penalty as a result...are they actively trying to drive people away from the sport?
  5. First practice cancelled after broken manhole cover damages both Sainz and Ocon cars.....too much hype, not enough substance - could I actually agree with the man-baby for once?
  6. I keep hoping that the past few years have been a nightmare and I'm going to one day wake up to a shiny new world where we're an establlished top half PL team - the longer my dream goes on, the less likely that seems....
  7. Are you thinking of The Courier with Benedict Cumberbatch? (spoiler: real life story of a British salesman persuaded to help get secrets out of Russia during the Cold War - caught and imprisoned then releaased)
  8. Reports that Chelsea could get points deduction due to alledged offshore payments made during Abramovich's time in charge which didn't go through the books to avoid FFP issues....
  9. No, if we lose to Crewe we're are poo (ooh, seems I’m a poet and I don’t even know it)
  10. Well now the club has spoken, Maguire can either name his source or put out a public aplogy for stirring (again)....
  11. That was the suggestion lfrom some political commentators ast week - force Sunak to sack her and then be free to criticise him to the point of triggering a leadership election - though if she thinks anyone vaguely sane would vote for her, she's even more deluded than it first appeared.....
  12. 4-4 with 5 mins of stoppage time left
  13. Tremendous game at the Bridge - Chelsea 3-3 with Citeh with 20 mins to go
  14. Dreadful news - it wasn't until I saw the photographs that I realised he was the chap that used to sometimes chat to us before the game on his way up to his seat - I only wish I'd known at the time..... Thoughts with his family, friends, and everyone on here that was touched by his infectious love for our club - RIP Daniel
  15. I suspect there's a longer game in play - and very telling that the US yesterday issued a warning to Israel that they counldn't remain as an occupying force after this latest incursion - to which Israel are probably (privately) thinking "who's going to stop us then?" - the West won't kick Israel out and Iran seem happy to be having a proxy war but won't want to get involved in the actual fighting. In 12 months time, there may well be different boundaries in place and very little anyone can do to put them back to their original positions - which from Israel's viewpoint is a huge win for the cost of a few hundred of their civiliians....and those who think the leadership (Hamas or Israel) wouldn't be happy sacrificing lives to help their long term aims is being naive - politicians don't think like you or I (if you want examples nearer home, Maggie was happy to lose members of the armed forces and the merchant navy in the Falklands to win an election; Blair committed our armed forces to a war with no evidence to support his decision and no plan how to end the ensuing conflict; Matt Hancock wanted to decide who the NHS could kill off during covid - they all have utter contempt for the lives they sacrifce to meet their long-term aims....)
  16. Don't give him ideas for gawd's sake.....
  17. If we can't find a big striker we should put Bradley up front - he's sod all use as a centre-half.....
  18. Via the ITVX app - had to select it a few times before it decided to show me anything though…
  19. I’m watching via an Amazon fire cube if that helps anyone who’s struggling…
  20. There's another - superstition. Have a pie and the Rams win, simply have to buy a pie for the next match....
  21. Joey Barton sacked by Bristol Rovers
