Enter Mike Ashley... could buy the stadium and use it for marketing purposes. Then wait in the wings until CK wants out of the club.

Yep. We've just reached Weathertop. Not even got to Rivendell yet.

I wonder if MA will now attempt to purchase the stadium. Gives him a foothold and will certainly get it for less than the £80m it was valued for.

I assume he had been told he wouldn't be selected for PB, otherwise why walk away? He also mentioned coming back with an improved offer which suggests he had been out-bid. Felt like a toys out of the pram moment.
I still believe Q were hanging on for some mystical white-knight to come in and pay off everything. By that point it was already 3 months in admin.
The other plausible theory someone suggested on here was MA submitting an expression of interest but not a bid, and subsequently stringing the admins along given his huge wealth compared to the other bidders. But I don't think that should've been allowed to go on for 3 months either.

It was noted that CK's offer included normal day to day costs which weren't included in the quoted bids for others.
I also seem to recall CK walking away before any bid deadline had been reached, rather than the bid being rejected

Or he could just pay off MSD, and leave the ground at it's realistic value. The £80m figure was always nonsense but is a separate issue, IMO.
I agree with most of what you say, I strongly believe MM will not let the club go into liquidation (look how he was willing to fix the Middlesbrough issue when only he could). As an absolute last resort he will buy the club back himself, but it's a game of brinkmanship as he's trying to get the highest offer possible from the bidders.
Also feel it's inevitable it will drag out until the final hours when the funding runs out.
If it's true Q didn't speak to MA, fits with what Kirchner said last year (and by the way, his offer seemed way above all the others). And didn't Binnie bid £28m without the stadium?

My friend has not long left of his life, He has terminal cancer and has maybe only weeks to live.  He had his first season ticket when he came out of the army in the mid fifties, and has had it every season since, and then when he married in 1963 his wife had one too, they never missed a home match, but then covid came along and they have not been again. We have a mutual friend who lives in the USA he is in the UK this week end and is taking my friend to what is likely to be his last match ever. I'm just hoping if there are any protests it wont affect the match. So please spare a thought or a prayer if your so minded on Saturday. I wont say his name as he hated social media as much as he loved the Rams. So UP THE RAMS  P will be thinking of you.

Let's be fair, there was tremendous momentum and then when the Boro claim was dealt with we all felt that it was the beginning of the end.
We are now countless weeks down the line and the incompetent Q are still no nearer the end point. Fans have simply had enough and there is zero enthusiasm, simply a resignation to the liklihood that the club will cease to exist very soon.
Personally I'm at the point now where I simply don't care anymore and want rid of this whole shambles and start again.
Everyone has had chance to sort this mess out and they have all failed miserably. Bigger issues going on in the world so this has very much taken a back seat. Everyday I've been hopeful that today may be the day but alas not.
How we have ended up at this mess is down to one man and the demise lies at his door. I don't know the reasons why the sale hasnt happened but it is clear that everyone isn't doing their upmost to close the deal.
The potential buyers should not be seen as the bad guys. Something is only worth what folk are willing to pay. If they offer low you have to compromise.
So very very sad but we have to draw a line and move on. It will take 20 years to get back but we need to start now...

Personally I liked Andy Appleby, ran the club responsibly (if sometimes unpopular) and he would respond over email if you had any questions.
    Rush however... no thanks.

Just noticed (if not already mentioned) it's "Admin Andy" of previous Pompey fame (Andrew Andronikou), so at least they have some experience.
