  1. Tiny gripe...but really is getting on my t**s that the bowling speed is shown in km. 136 km or whatever means nowt. It's 90mph that has meaning to me
  2. My recollection was that I felt it was fairly even but that those who knew their stuff felt Catterall was robbed - that carried over into the post fight atmosphere and all the questioning was framed around 'are you going to give him another chance as he was very unlucky' etc. Catterall was pretty clear he felt he won and he deserved another shot. Taylor was dismissive and seemed to be saying he couldn't stay at that weight, had bigger fish to fry and didn't feel it was warranted. Making him appear like the bad guy. Sorta like Froch after the Groves fight.
  3. Lies, damn lies and statistics... You can twist them to prove anything.... I could equally use them to prove he's exactly what we need.... errr.. I just choose not to.
  4. Regardless of taking a risk on some players who are injury-prone, the length of the injuries has been incredibly unfortunate. 3 (or 4) 'half a season' injuries is ridiculous bad luck.
  5. Gayle is a strange one now.... Hardly a 'like for like' replacement for Collins! Thinking of the out of contract suggestions, theres an ex-Palace - massively injury-prone lump - who's a more obvious replacement for Collins...
  6. Don't you start. It's like a betting exchange on here!
  7. If I were a Derby player who enjoyed the odd 'away fixture', I'd definitely be using a postal service rather than popping in to see the club Doctor.... Your missus would be packing your bags before you got home from training. Talk about lack of patient/Doctor confidentiality 🤣🤣
  8. Weird though, when I've been for a scan and asked them for 'any idea'... they point blank say they don't interpret the results and the specialist will be in touch, goodbye. Cant shut 'em up now eh.
  9. If only someone could clarify the nature of that clause....for the one thousandth time...😜
  10. I made this point in the time when things were at their worst. I saw myself as a 'give him a chance' fan, rather than pro-Warne yet sometimes it felt I was one of only a handful arguing to keep him. His record was there to be seen, the results weren't that bad and the performances weren't as shocking as suggested. Fortunately patience was kept and he's improved us to be about where I'd think is par. I'm actually probably closer to Warne out now with us second, than when we dropping out the play off places early in the season, because he's had time with his 'own' squad and a couple of performances recently have been horrible. He's here for the season...anything can wait til the close season.
  11. I was moaning about him in the match thread...so I watched him a bit to see if it was justified. So far he hasn't shown he has got a great first touch and he's kept making the wrong decisions, but that can change with a bit of confidence. What was worrying was his lack of intensity out of possession. Doesn't bust a gut to create space or get in behind, but even more noticeable was his defensive work. Seemed more 'for show' rather than any real effort to get the ball. All half-paced, shuffling across to cover, rather than sprinting to actually make a tackle. Didn't close down or get tight, didn't track back with any real desire. Hasn't done anything yet at a new club ...so I'd expect him to at least look a bit more keen to impress. Not a patch on NML so far. Early days, injury concerns etc etc...hopefully will come good when it matters soon.
  12. It was like the greatest story ever put to paper. Read aloud in a monotone, laboured way that makes it impossible to listen to. The narrative was really really awful. Some fancy writing with a date was the only way you knew the story had moved on to another world changing event with no change in feel, emotion or context to what I was actually watching. It just made me feel nothing.
  13. I saw the trailer for Napoleon at the cinema, looked awesome... Ridley Scott, Joaquin Phoenix, huge battles, amazing story...what could go wrong. Couple of months on and all the noise is that it's not a classic. So I was still hopeful but nervous.....and... Well, its pretty terrible IMO. Its like a few long scenes are there and instead of massively editing them down and adding you know errr various other scenes! so there is an actual cohesive story and some emotional attachment to any of the characters... they just ran out of time. It was just so flat and unengaging. Felt like they threw it out without any audience feedback or rewrites...or any kind of quality control. Take any scene and you could watch it for a few minutes and see the potential for a great film. But it was just a bit of a mess and instantly forgettable. Can't quite put my finger on why it was so soulless.... but it was a Mark Pembridge annoying 4/10
  14. We really haven't played that well... but it could be 4 or 5! Barks scores a quality goal... 3 brilliant goals today. Everything has gone our way today. We just need to build on this and be more on the front foot in games. Defensively we look solid, Adams has been awesome, we have gifted players going forward... just need to keep the ball a bit more and control games and we can bloody win this league.
  15. Not sure Bird had a clue where he was hooking it... if Collins had been there it was a nothing ball, with NML there it's a simple goal! Electric pace and anticipation. A thing of beauty.
  16. I'm pro-Warne...and agree totally with this assessment of the first half. And agree moments of magic are dragging us up the table rather than well worked team goals created by pressure. As you have said previously though. I think he will get us up. PS CBT off... he's been a total passenger first half tbf
  17. Complete Warneball performance so far. Not a lot of football to enjoy but we are winning! Extra man in midfield makes us look stronger defensively but even less likely to hold onto the ball as we are still going wide and long and giving up possession.
  18. CBT really does look disinterested in any defensive work at all at the moment, no intensity to his play.
  19. Bird picked a pocket and ran from the halfway line, speculative drive that the keeper misjudged the bounce. Exeter had most of the ball, look tidy but without threatening. Derby not keeping the ball but plenty of attacking options. Adams is so what we have been missing.
  20. Ha, very early days. However, he doesn't look overly inclined to work back/hard so far.
  21. Open game. Adams is a real workhouse. Lots to like about him. Bird and Hourihane doing very little so far.
  22. Adam's great tackle, NML releases Wilson who skins his man and squares it to Collins who tamely hits it straight at the keeper. Really should score.
  23. Rustin Cohle is probably my favourite character from any series. Just totally engrossing. Even though last time I watched it, Mrs Chester joined me for her 2nd viewing and commented how in the present day he's made to look all bedraggled, tattooed and scrawny looking...she can tell he's actually absolutely ripped under his shirt. 🙄 Tbf as I have mentioned on here before, I may have commented that Alexandria Daddario as Marty's girlfriend is absolutely smoking.
