Thought it was a dive by Barkhuizen or at best he had little interest in anything other than drawing a foul. Stupid tackle though and once a foul was given it’s a very clear second yellow in that area of the pitch.

Same clown who spent the entire second half hobbling around and time wasting last season until Lawrence booted him 10 feet in the air and gave him a real reason to hobble. Can’t say I was too sympathetic on either occasion.

It looked minor and not a yellow, but if you allow the opposition to run at you and are not careful with your tackle you give the ref a decision to make.

It doesn’t matter what it took to see us relegated the fact is we are playing in the same league now as these teams and we need to earn their respect. If/when we’re top of the league, well clear or at least start to put together a decent unbeaten run (including wins away from home) then we will have begun to earn that respect. It might be a big day out for the fans to come to a stadium like Pride Park, same as it is/was to go to Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday and a few others, but I’m sure the players and managers won’t be viewing games against us as their cup final.

I’m not saying your arrogant necessarily, just the statement you made could be perceived as such. I’m also a Rams fan of 40+ years but we simply have to accept we are where we are right now. We’re not playing the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus anymore and, quite probably, never will again in my lifetime.

I agree, we are not Real Madrid , they will enjoy PP and it’s something a lot don’t have. We underestimate teams in L1 at our peril

My understanding is that to enforce a parking charge through the courts, they have to be able to show that they have materially lost out by you parking there. That actually makes most of these things unenforceable.

The problem is though, unauthorised match day parking could easily prevent customers parking there and thus affect Costco's footfall. Costco could show that they have lost out quite easily, so I reckon they (Parking Eye) would win these cases.

That's not true, they just need to show that they have signage to show the rules for parking. The case law around this is to do with NCP carparks

  4. I have two comments about the game

    1. Collins needs help up front, far too often he is on his own in the box with 2-3 defenders to beat.
    2. I like playing out from the back, but we seem to reset when we get the ball, we seem to get the ball back, wait for the opposition to re group and then attack. We need to move the ball quicker whilst the opposition defence has not reset.

Generally, I share your unease about tonight but I would just take issue with your comment about Shrewsbury knowing the division well. Surely that is irrelevant for just a single game. They’re not playing the rest of the division, they’re just playing us. So, if we think our style of football is different to your typical league 1 team then surely that’s as much of a challenge for Shrewsbury as it is for us. Secondly, as has been discussed previously, I don’t think there is a big a difference between The Championship and League 1. Of course, generally speaking, the quality of the players and the style of play is a little different but not massively.

I don't think Shrewsbury would survive in the Championship and I think there is a difference, not for all teams but in general. L1 is far more physical, although to be fair I wouldn't say  Shrewsbury are a dirty team.  There play last night was different to ours, more direct and yes we will meet teams with both styles. They did what I expected, pressed when they could, had 3 at the back and defended as a group.

If they had played a similar style to us I think they might have lost, instead they adopted a style to get the most out of the game and they almost did.

Just spoken to a Wycombe fan work colleague who was at the Wycombe Shrewsbury game on Saturday

His opinion on Shrewsbury - an appalling team who just sit behind the ball, pack defence and who went down at every opportunity feigning injury and wasting time - he predicts a win for us.

I however think this game and Saturday will tell us a lot about how we cope with such teams. A good week of results and I think we've come through the difficult period of our players gelling with each other and finally getting their match fitness sorted

This is the type of game I hate, we are expected to win, everyone try’s to write off the opponents and it always comes back to bite us in the bum.

they know the division well and we are still gelling and lack fitness, if I was Shrewsbury I would be thing if there is a time to play Derby it is now. That said I am still going for a hard fought win to the Rams

I think its so important that when under pressure we dont just boot it away. We really need to keep posession as much as possible. Thats the difference between good and average players though.

I agree, but some times you need a longer out ball with willing runners (Knight) to close the defenders down. The heat made that impossible on Saturday and we are not fit enough at the moment

Then our administrators and EFL balls up

I work in the banking sector and I cannot believe they didn't verify source of funds properly. Its from a single person it should have been straight forward. Perhaps the issue is the people undertaking due diligence have no real back ground in doing it

  9. I don't blame teams such as Fleetwood for going direct, they need to be effective and will never have the resource of an Ipswich, Sheff Weds, Derby etc. That way they even it up a bit.

Having players that can pass and move costs money, you can see how effective (I agree not pretty) Barnsley were a couple of years back.

Of all of the teams in L1 its the direct teams that worry me, lots of long balls into the box with big forwards spells danger as well as putting us off our passing game.

  10. I thought Barnsley were like us in the championship, can keep the ball but no end product, even their goal was lucky.

we suffered more than them in the heat, we wilted in the second half and NML was knackered before half time. That meant our out ball when we are under pressure ( one one into the opposition corner) never had a runner. The effect of that was it came straight back.

thought Oxford were a much better team than Barnsley. We suffered from a lack on pre season training, it really showed in the match. Also the team will start to gel more and passes will not go astray. We are still a team in transition but give it. Another 10 games and we will be on it for both fitness and passing.

Loved Cashin today excellent but also a mention for Collins, his goals will come and wow did he put in a shift and unsettle their back line. For a forward goals are important but they are not everything.
