Perhaps I’ll have to rewatch the whole game as, after one live viewing, your comments feel a bit harsh to me. I don’t recall feeling any nervousness or concern about his game tonight. It could be any dodgy moments were perhaps down to a change in formation (more exposed at the back?) as time was running out and we had to commit even more to attack?

Exactly the rule I read (so thanks, but doesn’t help me understand why a penalty should not have been given). It says nothing about whether the player impeded was likely to get to the ball or not.

I have. Have you? I can’t see anywhere that it says the player still needs to be in complete control of the ball. Happy to be corrected if you want to show me. The rule may be different if the ball was out of play but it wasn’t.

It would have been better if he had gone missing for the penalty.

Does the rule say a penalty (or direct free kick anywhere on the pitch come to think of it) should not be given just because the player has lost control before the offence is committed? I didn’t think it did. Wildsmith deliberately lifted his leg to impede the forward. Stonewall penalty for me.

I don’t think the ref had any choice. Wildsmith stuck his foot out to bring the player down. The ball was running away but I’m not sure that matters.

If we can do to Oxford and Peterborough what we did to Barnsley then I’m right with you. Until then, whilst delighted and encouraged by our current run of results, I’m not getting too carried away. COYR

If I was a betting man then I’d bet against it. I think he’s realised that owning a football club (and making a noticeable success of it rather than just pottering along in the lower leagues) is an expensive business that he won’t want to venture into again.

Not a criticism of Barks (although he missed a few chances to add to our lead, he did play a big part in the goal) but I wouldn’t say he “won us the game”. Surely, if we’re going to single out an individual player for that accolade (I don’t think we should by the way, it was an all round team performance) it should be Cashin for his great defensive performance or, better still, Nelson for his usual excellent defensive performance AND actually scoring the goal.

I don’t get your comment about luck rather than judgement. Surely we are where we deserve to be. If you’re saying that we’re only 4th due to some lucky results, well what if we continue to get “lucky” results and find ourselves in the top 2? Why would you revisit your opinion? As for bottlers, I don’t think dropping points over the next two games would define us as such. It depends on how we perform over the remainder of the season and, in particular, towards the very end (a la last season).

A lot easier said than done if we’re going to sign the sort of player we need rather than just a name to fill the squad.

The fouls aren't "spoiling" the game. The bookings haven't had a negative impact on the game yet although there are several players that need to tread carefully.

To be fair, I reckon they've all probably been justified. Not sure about yours though.😀
