  1. Apparently, it's a prequal to "Undercover" and a sequel to the film "Ferry". I've not seen either of these so I can't comment.
  2. Fair point but, like it or not, it's the pond we're swimming in at the moment so we probably need to readjust or expectations or expect to be disappointed pretty much every week.
  3. They certainly didn’t look quality on Saturday but how much of that was down to how we allowed them to play? I’ve not seen enough of their other games to really judge their quality. I was just pointing out they’re in the top 6, hadn’t lost away prior to Saturday and had only conceded 3 goals. All of that must point towards some degree of quality I would say.
  4. Just on episode 5 of “Ferry, the series” on Netflix about drugs manufacturing in the Netherlands. It hasn’t reached the heights of Subara or Gomorrah yet and the Dutch language is a bit harsher on the ear than Italian but I’m enjoying it.
  5. “Average at best” seems a bit harsh to me. I remember saying to the person next to me that it was looking like an entertaining 0:0 draw. Not because we were average but simply because it looked like two evenly matched teams cancelling each other out. You do have to take into account the quality of the opposition and whilst we didn’t allow them to play their finest game, they’re in the top 6 for a reason and of course, prior to Saturday, hadn’t lost on the road and only conceded 3 goals away from home.
  6. Ironic how you’re accusing me of trying to re-interpret what you said and then can find no other interpretation for “taking responsibility” other than “not trying”. You do know that someone can try hard but still not do very well don’t you? To try and end this conversation perhaps I should remind you that all I said originally is that I suspect there is probably an element of shared responsibility. I.e. Warne got things wrong and continues to do so but the players also make mistakes and play badly from time to time that you can’t always pin on the coaching they receive or the style of play they’re being asked to play.
  7. It’s not interpretation, it’s literally what you said “shared responsibility is not a thing”. I agree PW has to take ultimate responsibility but there are lower levels of responsibility which we seem to agree on eventually. When did I say the players weren’t trying? Please either find my quote (maybe it’s there somewhere) or don’t put words in my mouth (something I will concede I have been guilty of in the past).
  8. I’m not disputing that is often/usually how it works but it doesn’t mean the workforce should be free from any criticism.
  9. They are accountable but not always totally responsible. (Imagine the outcry if, following the good result and performance on Saturday, anyone had dared to suggest it was all down to PW). That doesn’t, and shouldn’t, absolve the rest of the workforce from some degree of responsibility or deny them any recognition.
  10. That’s a very valid and fair response. I guess, where I was coming from is based on my observations from earlier games (as I wasn’t there last night) when players have, on occasion but far to often, got some of the basics wrong which I’m not sure they can put down to playing a position/style that doesn’t suit them. Not remotely scientific but I would put the blame at something like 80% Warne and the coaching staff, 20% the players.
  11. It’s their fault if they execute the plan, however crap that may be, badly. I wasn’t at the game last night and neither were you but, by all accounts (looking at the comments and the player ratings) most didn’t play particularly well. Only yesterday you were stating that there is no shared responsibility - it all on PW. I’m not sure if you’ve now changed your opinion. I don’t think anyone is suggesting PW got things right last night or is completely (or even remotely convinced) by his ability and tactics but you can’t in it all on PW as you seem to be trying to do. It’s quite telling that you have been far more vocal following last nights defeat than you were following the win on Saturday.
  12. Fair point about substituting players that aren’t performing (although there is of course a limit to how many substitutions can be made) but does that mean you finally concede that players may actually be partially responsible? No, I thought not. “I’m playing crap but it’s not my fault, you shouldn’t have picked me or you should have replaced me”.
  13. Because I suspect there isn’t anyone at that end but I didn’t want to be accused of ignoring the fact they might exist and picking on the. extreme Warne out brigade. Not sure what your point is.
  14. How about you listen to, and quote, the whole clip instead of cherry picking this one phrase: ”WE give the ball away for their second goal” ”For the next 70 minutes WE didn’t lay a glove on them” “WE didn’t create enough goal scoring opportunities”
  15. Therein lies part of the problem with this forum at the moment. There are certain (not all and not naming names) anti Warne posters that are so blinkered that they cannot seem to accept that PW isn't always the only one to blame for our woes and anyone that suggest that is labelled a Warne lover. There maybe members at the other end of the spectrum that can see no wrong in PW but I'm struggling to think of any. 😀
  16. 99% agree with you. Just think your assessment of “OK” for Saturday is a bit harsh. Yes, the penalty was a tad soft and two goals were scored from long free kicks but, we created a few other chances (the fine tackle on Barks as he was through in the penalty area, Barks miss when one on one with the keeper and Sibley hitting the bar spring to mind). You also have to take into account the opposition. Agreed Barnsley weren’t at their best but maybe a lot of that was down to us containing them. One swallow doesn’t make a summer though and I won’t be happy until we’re regularly producing that sort of form and result. I also agree regarding the academy prospects. I think PW was right to go with a relatively strong team and might well have brought one or two on if we’d been in a comfortable position. As it was, it seems he was too afraid to give the youngsters a try but instead opted for bringing Bradley on.
