  1. Well done. You’ve just put a curse on tonight’s result.😀
  2. If you should "absolutely take off a player if there is a risk of exacerbating an injury" then why does Warne deserve criticism given that's what he did?
  3. I don’t think we’ll be playing teams like Arsenal any time soon.
  4. Presumably they had it built on the cheap and if it’s specifically for away fans they’re not too bothered about a few seats with restricted views.
  5. I’m glad you’ve cleared that up for us all after four pages on posts.😀
  6. I don’t think we’ve won there in any of our last four league games. this year will be different. 🤞 Seriously though, I guess I’d take a draw right now PROVIDED we win tomorrow and on Saturday.
  7. I’m not sure if you’ve contradicted yourself there or if I’m just reading it wrong. Yes Nyambe is our best right back and yes Wilson had only just come on the pitch BUT, as you say Wilson was on the wrong side of his man and the team as a whole (not just Wilson and Collins but the 8 outfield players in the box that allowed to the ball to run through to their player and then give him all the time in the world to take his shot) failed to deal with a fairly straightforward situation that we shouldn’t have to rely on Nyambe to do. Nyambe had dominated that side of the pitch and usually does that’s why I wouldn’t want to lose him for a few games (over and above how much we lost him due to the Alcon) if he’d picked up an injury. Warne was either over cautious or sensible in bringing Nyambe off, we’ll never know whether he would have aggravated the injury if he’d stayed on.
  8. Fair point and, firstly apologies, I’d forgotten he’d played against Cheltenham.
  9. Really? He didn’t look keen when he played - even though he’s not played for us yet? Warne suggested he hadn’t trained well. Maybe Warne meant because of his injury rather than attitude? He couldn’t have been more lacklustre in his half time warm up. - I can’t say that I noticed and maybe that’s just the way he always is. I’ve never seen him warming up before. I sincerely hope you’re wrong otherwise it could be the shortest time ever we’ve taken against a player (justified or not). He’s only been here just over a week.
  10. When did he play? Assuming you meant played for Derby rather than his previous club where he seems to have done rather welll.
  11. Sorry, I don’t get that at all. It shouldn’t be their “dream day out” they are there to do a fairly simple job for which I assume they receive some instructions. If it was a one off opportunity at somewhere like Wembley then I could understand it but not when they are there every other week at PP (I assume it’s the same kids. If I’m wrong then ignore the rest of this post and the criticism should be levelled at the club). If the kids are too young to deal with such a task then fair enough, the club should use older boys and girls, but they look old enough to me. Regarding having criticism thrown at them, I agree no one should be shouting at them and abusing them at the game (although there is nowt wrong with a bit of “come on, get a move on”) but I don’t see anything wrong with criticism them on a forum like this.
  12. Agreed. Plus, we didn’t lose two points because Nyambe went off. We lost two points because the team on the pitch failed to deal with the passage of play that led to their goal. Some people seem to be implying Nyambe is our only decent defender and if he’s not on the pitch we’re doomed if the opposition attack down our right including relatively harmless throw ins.
  13. I’m not sure you can say “irrespective of whether Warne’s was being economic with the truth”. What if was telling exactly as it was and if Nyambe had stayed on even for a few more minutes he might have gone down injured and missed a few games as a result? (my gut feeling is he wasn’t that close to a serious injury but I don’t know. It could have been the perfect timing in order to keep him available for all we know). Shouldn’t we have reasonably expected the players on the pitch to deal with the throw in and run into the box? Weren’t there enough experienced players in the box to prevent their player having a free shot from just about the penalty spot? IF Nayambe was carrying a knock, PW had two choices: leave him on for the remaining 10 minutes (normal time + time added on) and risk the injury worsening or, take him off and trust the rest of the team (including his replacement) to see the game out. Can you imagine the outrage if Nyambe had limped off a few minutes later if PW knew he was feeling a bit of an injury and hadn’t replaced him?
  14. I think it’s reasonable to assume that the first two posts on this thread were rather hasty and silly reactions to what the posters thought was a tactical substitution. If so, it’s a shame that neither @Ramfan1958 or @Fuertes’s Passport can’t come back on and concede that may be the case. I guess none of us are big enough to admit we may have got it wrong as often as we should do.
  15. The weird thing is, despite most games being pretty grim in general, and I often leave the ground thinking that wasn't very good but at least we managed to hold on (or something similar), after a couple of days I still can't wait for the next game. I'll renew my season ticket and attend half a dozen away games next season even though I have fairly low expectations (but high hopes) for what's in store. The agony of being a football supporter. It feels a bit like an addiction - it costs you a load of money and the lows often outweigh the highs but you simply can't give it up.
  16. Whilst nobody was outstanding, I thought Bradley had a decent game and is continuing his rehabilitation and confidence build, same for Ward. Sibley again proved again how much he has matured in terms of his defensive role. Yes, most of us would prefer to see him playing further forward but he has proved (IMO) that he is safe cover for Fozzy and not the hot head seen a few years ago. Finally, and not just for scoring the goal, Bird has proved that his heart is still with Derby until the end of the season and he’ll do the best he can to help get us promoted. Finally, finally, no new injuries (I assume/hope). Nyambe was replaced before his niggle was aggravated and Cashin wasn’t risked. We might well have won if Nyambe had stayed on and/or Cashin had played but there might have been a longer term impact if they had.
  17. I thought you were going to suggest we should just call them spectators. 😀
  18. I thought many people had decided that we do have an identity - play it out wide, avoiding the midfield, as soon as you can and get crosses in? (I’m only half joking).
  19. Burton 93 Bristol 90 Oxford 86 There’s three examples of when we’ve scored late to win a game. If Barnsley are doing what they need to but are still below us, does that mean we’re also doing what we need to do? Regarding them rarely losing, they’ve only lost one less game than us. I’m not ruling anyone out of making the top two but I’m not ruling anyone in either. That was my point.
  20. I was thinking of doing the same so that I miss the first half given how generally grim they have been at PP.
  21. To be fair, they are pretty crap and it ain’t a difficult job.
  22. I think more importantly, none of the others in the chasing pack are really doing that well. Barnsley won but needed goals in the 88th and 95th minute, Bolton and Stevenage only drew (albeit away from home) and Peterborough, who a lot of us thought were the best team we’d seen just over a month ago, have only picked up 1 point from the last 4 games. It seems we’re all doing our best to avoid automatic promotion.
  23. Maybe it amounts to the same thing but the thing that cost us was the replacement, for apparently forced substitution, failing to deal with the situation.
  24. I thought Bradley did OK except for one occasion when he was forced into hoofing it with his much weaker right foot. I certainly don’t think he weakened us unless you’re comparing him directly with Cashin in which case, any replacement would have “weakened” us.
