  1. Indeed you do. 😉😉😉
  2. Finishing as Champions would be a bonus as far as I’m concerned that no one will really remember in a couple of years (it hasn’t done Plymouth much good). If I could somehow fix the result, I’d definitely have Pompey beating Bolton.
  3. Let’s see if you’re true to your word this time. 😀 You’ve not noticed that, to an extent, I am playing with you to see if you really can let it go or if you continue to try and get the last word. You’re the one that first called for us to draw a line under this but you can’t seem to accept it, without chipping in again, even when someone agrees with you that the results were a disappointment but, with the added comment that they weren’t unexpected. No result is nailed on in this league (as Posh proved against Carlisle) but I expected Posh to beat Orient. Same with Reading. I HOPED they would get something at Bolton but certainly didn’t expect them to.
  4. Yes but not unexpected (I see what you did there. Still want the last word 😄)
  5. Yes. Let’s leave it there. We were all hoping someone would slip up and are therefore disappointed. BUT, the results were no worse than we probably realistically expected. Only the Bolton score line was worse (by a couple of goals) than most of us expected.
  6. I can’t understand why you couldn’t gracefully accept that I thought you were both right and, despite your stated desire to draw a line underneath this, you feel unable to unless you have the last word.😀 We were all hoping that at least one of them would slip up again but, the fact that they didn’t means that results went according to expectations but not to our hopes. Just as a small aside. They didn’t all win quite handsomely. It was a good win for Posh but I wouldn’t call 1:2 as a handsome win.
  7. How can you hope to “draw a line under this” when you end with a question? 😀 To hopefully really draw a line under this, I think you’re both right. It was a 💩 day in terms of the results BUT it was no more of a 💩 day than we were realistically expecting. There, will that do it?
  8. I agree. My predictor (with us finishing second) had Bolton and Barnsley both winning anyway. Posh exceed my expectations but I have them too far behind.
  9. Not quite as doom and gloom as you suggest. Technically you may be correct but it won’t be solely in Bolton’s hands either.
  10. It won’t be game over if we do lose. Just shows how close this could end up. Still in our hands but if we do lose we could probably do with Pompey running away with it and winning all of their remaining games.
  11. Today’s scorelines are looking as bad as Friday’s results were good. ☹️
  12. Worry not. They’ll both be resting/protecting players for the play offs by then. 😀
  13. I don’t think it’s crazy to imagine that, at 5pm on Saturday, we’re level on points with Bolton. Then they would only need to pick up one more point than us over the final four games to make goal difference irrelevant. As you say though, they have a tough couple of games ahead so I think we would still be favourites.
  14. Do the club earn anything from such events given they don’t own the stadium?
  15. Apologies @jimtastic56. I think I seriously over reacted to your post and you're right, it would help and don’t think you were trying to guilt anyone.
  16. Nice, let’s shame the fans that chose not to attend cup games. A tad sanctimonious IMO. I’ve been a season ticket holder since the 70’s and attend half a dozen away games or more each season (many others attend far more). I’m not looking for a medal but equally, I don’t feel bad because I choose not to attend cup games. I’ve dug deep into my pocket plenty over the years and am happy to continue doing so (I renewed my season ticket yesterday). I don’t really need someone trying to make me feel guilty for not attending a couple more games a season.
  17. A truly thrilling Youtube video. Remind me to watch it again if I can't sleep tonight. 😀
  18. Me too after the event but going into the last game with it being that close would be rather uncomfortable.
  19. I think, as a reluctant owner, he will always be looking for a sale. BUT, as a true fan and having seen what we've been through, I strongly suspect he will be extremely cautious about who he sells to.
  20. Only make it by 1 point? A bit too squeaky bum for me. I assume @simmoram1995’s predictor has us beating Carlisle on the last day. It may pan out that way and we ought to beat them (but so should Posh have yesterday). It would make for exciting end to the season for the neutrals but going into the last game with it being so close is a scary thought. I know it’s a fools game predicting results just to make it look good (in fact, yesterday’s results proves predicting any kind of results is of little real value) but my fairly conservative predictor (I’ve explained my flawed rationale previously) now has us finishing 4 points ahead of Barnsley and comfortably short of Pompey but not by 11 points.
  21. Agreed. It wasn’t pretty but that doesn’t matter right now. Just grind out the results. No doubt some statto will come on saying we didn’t “deserve” to win because they had more possession (which they did) and completed loads more passes (which I assume they did) etc. but, as you say, it was a deliberate tactic to allow them to keep possession and pass it around where they couldn’t hurt us. I expect to see the same at Pompey - it’s not a game we’re likely to dominate. It’s not a tactic you’d want to see deployed too often (especially at home), but sometimes it’s necessary.
  22. Champions would be nice icing on the cake but certainly not essential. The reality is that it might be better if Pompey beat Bolton and Barnsley.
  23. Nah, you're not having that, they just shortened their name.😀If they nearly went bankrupt then we're in good company.
  24. Didn't they win automatic promotion in 1903/04 season? I remember it well.😀
  25. In an ideal world, we'd clinch promotion against Orient in front of 30,000 fans rather than just the lucky ones who manage to get a ticket for Cambridge. We'd then confirm the title at Cambridge so that the trophy can actually be presented at the Carlisle game. Unfortunately, the ideal world rarely appears but , you never know.
