I think you make a good point but, a good point for starting one or more of them on Wednesday. They’ll be playing against an U21 team and not therefore seasoned professionals and the crowd is probably going to be easily the smallest of the season I reckon. It might be better to break them in gently in a game like this.

Oh dear, this is hard work this morning. Let’s start again. Did I say people can’t comment on the game as per your first insinuation ? No I didn’t. Did I say people can only post comments on the game with which I agreed as per your second insinuation? No I didn’t. All I said is that regardless of the unimportance of the game and the likely changes PW will make, if we fail to win there will no doubt be some making the “PW must go after this” comments. It seems you have twisted, possibly for the sake of an argument, this fairly simple point I made to mean no one can be critical or disagree with me.

True but, as I say, technically you could say it’s starting at pretty much every club. Whoever owns Derby, however it is run, whoever the manager is, whatever tactics are deployed on the pitch, there will always be some that are not happy. I don’t think DC needs to worry about a few comments on social media. A few such comments may look like a groundswell of unrest but, often (IMO) it’s not the case.

Now you are being even more silly than ever. Read the thread. I don’t have a problem with people being posting comments on the game, tactics, team selection etc positive or negative (even though I may not agree with them all). All I said is, failure to win will prompt the usual “Warne has to go after this result” comments. We all want a great performance and good win on Wednesday night but the sensible amongst us also know that even if the football is dire and we fail to win, it isn’t the most important game of the week and whatever the result PW isn’t going to get sacked after it.

Using that definition, you could probably say there is unrest at pretty much every club in country as there is bound to be at least one person unhappy with the current position/manager/playing style/squad of players. It’s only a concern when it becomes “widespread unrest” which, of course, is subjective and much more difficult to measure.

Do you honestly think he would have been sacked even if the score had remained 2:0? There was zero chance of that happening I'd say. As @Mckram says, it would take an extended run of defeats in the league for Clowes to act in the short term rather than losing away in the FA Cup.

Tuesday night with just over 3000 tickets. Surely they'll make general sale.
