Genuine question, how many times have you seen him play (not just very limited highlights) to make such a critical comment of our recruitment process (assuming we don’t make a bid)?

Him being local shouldn’t be a factor as to whether we try to sign him and, just because one of our competitors are interested doesn’t mean he would be right for us.

Sorry. Didn't realise I had to watch a player several times before I reserve judgement.

But to answer the question, afew times as I lived in Chez until recently, so saw them a fair bit and he was a standout.

And of course being already in Derbyshire would help, nobody wants the stress of moving, (especially given his age) - You think Mcgoldrick had far to move when he left us?

Nigel Clough is another - Burton, Derby, Sheff, Mansfield..

He's a perfect age. We lack pace, creativity and he's cheap...why not?

You missed the oxford game then ??   Cos the evidence of that contradicts what you say  - how many effective balls did Hourihane deliver into the box as well as for his actual assist?

How many games outside that?  You can't base his Derby success on one or two games, he's been underwhelming TBH, especially considering he's played most his career in Championship or Prem.

If NML needs resting, so does Hourihane

  3. Bird offers more than Hourihane both defensively and going forward..

Genuinely baffled what the latter actually brings to the side, ditto Korey Smith (no coincidence we go on a runs when he's out the eleven).

Unless we can prize Brannagan away from Oxford, I'd keep Bird till the Summer.

  4. Never met B4, but in 2020 I  mentioned my mum passed away in a post somewhere and within minutes B4 private messaged to say he was there if I needed to talk - he regularly messaged me checking to see if i was ok anr I can only thank him for showing such compassion to somewhere he never knew and had nothing to gain from this.

Reading through these posts, this seems to be a similar theme and shows what a lovely human being he was.

RIP mate, thanks for the positive vibes and I hope Derby do it this year 🙏

  5. The football is crap, the signings have not done little, if anything to improve us. For whatever reason we are struggling to attract talent and not buying this tight budget b******* when he's gone and brought another keeper in to sit on the bench and said Warne himself X player is close next week, only for nowt to happen.

There's no flair, no creativity spark, 5 FIVE at the back just isn't DCFC and never will be.

What he did to Rotherham in this league, kudos. However we aren't Rotherham, just like Nigel Pearson/Leicester weren't us.

No chance we get any more permanent players unless they’re on tiny wages. Loan wise we can’t afford to pay much either. Believe the max we can offer players is around 4k a week. That’s the going rumour at the moment. I have no idea of this is the ‘business plan’ or DC being a bit stingy with budgets or if Warne has splashed out too much on wages and had struggled to work with the budgets set

Where is the Knight and Bielik money? This would've freed up a hefty amount on the budget to play with surely.

Why have we spent weeks targeting Rhodes and supposedly Sharp - when neither would come on a few grand wages to drop to league one?
